thank you hun means alot to me. really means alot to all who have replied to this thread, my son's having a nap so think i'm thinking tooo darn much, my son's third birthday is on 22nd june we're having a birthday party for him on 20th june, maybe have an engagement party in july once i have moved?

nah sadly not, my son has alot of problems beahavourial and such so i want to try and give him my full attension one on one, my partner is there alot but i want to try and get my son sorted or it will put a huge strain on myself and my partner, i know my partner loves us both and he does alot maybe its just i am worried it will effect my son or my partner because of all the problems. but we have talked about moving in together alot.

we were planning on having one but decided against it, we had a close family member pass away, plus the mc round about the same time... we ended up booking our wedding for sooner than we originally planned for in the end so it seemed stupid to have an engagement party then the wedding would follow 8-9 months time. it just seemed like unnecessary expense - i would much rather spend the money that would've been to throw an engagement party on the wedding!

Yes i had one 9 years ago LOL now we are just starting to plan as wedding

We got engaged April 2008 and we had our engagement party in September 2009. It wasn't a party as such .. more like a meal with cake LOL xx

Yeh we had one about a month after our engagement. It was a good chance for our families to meet each other and a great excuse for a bbq, cake, music and booze lol

thanks all for your stories. sadly our engagement party will been to either be put on hold or cancelled my son is being hell on earth at the moment so celebrating is the last thing we can do.

We got engaged 2 years ago and the day after we annouced our engagment the OH's mum and dad took us to a posh resturant and paid for it and then we went to a bar (the bar is now our reception venue)

I loved the engagment party because it was small and we had some nice pictures taken aswell

will get there had a wee fight with my OH but still together and still engaged i think everything with moving and my health is pretty bad atm etc things just been really stressful. maybe once i move get wee mans birthday out the way etc things will settle down.
