Hello ladies  Im thinking about buying an ergo carrier (only have a mei tai in my collection at the mo) they look great but are quite pricey so just wondering if you ladies who've tried one can give them the thumbs up or not

thanks!

I love my ergo, got it for £60 off ebay! great price and ii know i can sell it for similar when i've finished!!

I also have a macpac rucksack carrier, which I love too but I can carry tom in the ergo for much longer, it is soo much comfier for both of us x

We've not loved ours, hardly use it to be honest. We bought it mostly for carrying Imogen though, and got it when she was already over a year old, so might have left it a bit late. Might have used it more if I wasn't pregnant too, as the straps are awkward to fit round my bump. I would try and borrow one first before splashing out.

I could not live without the Ergo. It is the one item I would reccomend for any new mom. My daughter likes the Ergo better than her stoller. It is well worth the price.

I love my Ergo so much I bought two. :) I definitely think they're worth it. My daughter is 15 months old and 24 pounds. I'm 5'1" tall and 105 pounds and I still carry her comfortably. Lifesaver in places like the mall, where strollers are just too bulky. In fact, we've never even used our stroller.

I bought one. DS didn't like it until he was 4-5 months or so, even with the infant insert. We had to use slings, wraps and strollers until he was older.

That said, I use it now that he is bigger. He likes it. Used it the other day to vacuum when he wouldn't let me put him down. It is more bulky than other carriers and the belly/hip strap is NOT flattering on my mummy tummy when carrying him on my back. I don't own any other carrier though that he would fit at his age. I don't use it out and about though because of all the winter gear we have on.

Would I buy it again? No. I would have bought a wrap/sling for the younger days and just made do when he was older with umbrella strollers or carrying him on my hip

thanks ladies, conflicting advice but honest none the less

hopefully will be able to get one on ebay if I can as paying £99 for one and then not liking it and selling it on for a lot less would be a right bummer :dohh:

i love love love my ergo
its so comfy and easy to get on and off
the OH loves it too :)

Yeah I love my Ergo. Em is 13 months and 20ish? pounds and it's super comfortable.
I never use the buggy. It's brilliant for changing carries like back to front and vice versa without having to get the baby out. I use it every day, so does OH.

Do you have a slingmeet locally where you might be able to try one?

If not, getting one second hand from some of the forums is a good idea, you can re-sell it for the same if you don't get on with it generally

Probably going to sell mine, although it's an old one, if anyone's interested? It's exactly the same as this one (and also, these are some handy instructions for using it).
