Hi there, after losing my baby at 36 wks pregnant due to placenta abruption this year we decided to try for a baby this month. Missed period due on new years eve, test done new years day and BFP. Had dull aches and pain on left side, sort of on hip too, doesn't hurt but it's an annoying nagging pain. Went to early pregnancy clinic on Tuesday who did my bloods, also done scan but far too early to see anything but lining of womb looked thick apparently this is in preparation for pregnancy. Had more bloods done Thursday and rang for results today, hcg levels doubled and progestreone level is high which is a good sign nurse said. But I still have this nagging pain on left side, going for another scan Wednesday but still think it will be too early to see anything. Also got pain on left side of back feels like kidney pain. Just so petrified it's an etopic, has anybody else had etopic what were your symptoms and what were your hcg levels? X

i dont really remember what my hcg levels were.. it was a crazy couple of days from finding out i was pregnant to being in emergency surgery within 2 days..
but i had a small amount of pain on my right side.. it didnt hurt or anything and was hardly there but i remember saying my side was hurting.. i had gone to the emergency because i thought i was having a MC because I was bleeding.. a lot.. turns out my tube was starting to rupture thats why i was bleeding so much.. get them to do an internal ultrasound of your tubes.. if they dont see any blockage then everything should be ok.. keep me posted :hugs:

I had right sided pain with my daughter and was petrified of an ectopic. It turned out to be where i had ovulated and the corpus luteum had grown quite a bit on the ovary-which is normal as it supports early stages of pregnancy. it looked about 10 times bigger than the actual ovary, on ultrasound. That will obviously cause some referred pain and discomfort.

It gave me dull aches, twinges and sometimes sharp shooting pain.:hugs:

I have hd the same this time round-sometimes the twinges took my breath away. Had a scan tonight and the same ovary is in the same boat.

Hopefully your scan next wednesday will show you a healthy sac in a healthy place. And maybe more:hugs:

Thanks for your reply, I've not had any bleeding and also had internal scan and they said ovaries etc look fine as I complained that it felt like cyst but all she could see was the thickening of womb. Just so worried, not sure I can wait until Wednesday for another scan. Did u bleed straight away? So desperate for a baby after losing my little girl in July :( x

Thanks also tu123 you have made me feel a bit better. Just pray the sac is there on Wednesday xx

i starting bleeding pretty much after i found out i was pregnant..
Im sure everything is ok :hugs:
I know its hard.. but stay as positive as you can :hugs:

I was told my ovaries looked fine at my first scan. I saw a private consultant for a scan tonight who showed me everything in greater detail. And told me my ovaries looked fine and the left has a huge corpus luteum, and thr right was polycystic! I think in EPUs and general surgeries they mainly assess the pregnancy and dont tell you much!

:hugs:

My pregnancy before this one was ectopic. I had no idea I was pregnant. I had no symptoms at all. I had bleeding at the time AF was due so I didn't think anything about it. All my home tests were negative. About a week later I had more bleeding. My doctor had me do a blood test and it was positive. Hcg was 32 and I was 5.5 weeks pregnant. My levels almost doubled the next time but not quite. The following ones only went up by one. They kept checking my levels until they hit 2000. There was nothing in my uterus. That whole time I didn't feel a thing! I carried the ectopic to 9 weeks without feeling it. I had it surgically removed.

This pregnancy I felt something on my good tube side from four weeks. I was terrified I had an ectopic on that side. It didn't hurt but it was noticeable and somewhat constant. It turned out to be the corpus Luteum.

I googled a lot and learned that an ectopic and corpus Luteum cyst can feel identical. It's great that your numbers doubled. I hope they will keep monitoring you just in case. I know how scary it is, but as long as you are being monitored you'll be fine.
