Excuses when TTC?

I have an issue that perhaps some people can relate to.

At work we have lots of team trips planned all the time. Last year it was a ski trip and now we are planning a trip to Spain in October. This is when I am planning to go though IVF and I find it so hard to find excuses.

I tried saying I am busy the weekend they planned but then they came back saying they can move dates etc. :nope:

Do you feel like you have to come up with excuses as well? I have not told anyone at work about me TTC and similarly not many of my friends ( except my really good ones ) and when they want to pre book weekends away or go out partying when I am in the 2ww I feel like a bad friend or a boring work colleague when I cancel or say no.

Any thoughts?

Honestly, I don't think saying no to them is a bad thing, because you are doing something big right now! If they know what you are doing, they probably will understand the reason you are not going. I guess the not telling part makes you feel bad, right?
My suggestion is do whatever you want to do. Everything is up to you. People might said why don't you tell them and they would understand. But the truth is that they can't never understand how hard it would be for a women, who is suffer from infertility problem, and is trying to conceive. So just be yourself, don't feel pressure!

I haven't told any friends or family either. When things like this come up at work, I tell them I have family obligations. Totally true...we're trying to build a family. Works with friends, too. If you go out, a mild headache is a great reason not to drink, and offering to be the dd will make you a hero. I personally love having things scheduled during the tww so that I don't obsess over every second. But I agree with Stefdan, this is a personal choice. There's not a wrong answer.
