How soon after a section can I go back to the gym. Most people say 6 weeks. Are there any of you who went sooner than that? Like even if it was very light exercise?

I felt ready well before 6 weeks, but I suppose it depends on what kind of exercise you do. Regardless, I waited because I had no time lol

I will say that within the first week I was feeling great but I overdid myself with vacuuming and other household chores. Everybody is different, so maybe just listen to your body and if you feel more sore, just hang out on the couch or in bed and give yourself time to heal.

I felt fine too after 2 weeks but didn't until after my 6 week check as I didn't want to damage anything. I did a few walks with baby though

Yeah, see that's the thing. I know I'm going to feel ready in like a week or so, but I'm scared of over doing it, cause I'm totally that type of person. My husband told me to wait the 6 weeks, but I'm so itching to get back to it cause I couldn't when I was pregnant.

I have an elliptical and some other gym equipment at home & after my c/sections (4 so far) I've able to work out by 2 weeks after. I only did very light weights on my arms and went slowly on the machine, starting for maybe 20 minutes and adding more every day. I don't think I would of done it, though, if I had to leave the house and baby!

Yeah, fair enough. I don't think I'll be able to wait the whole six weeks. But I've been stretching upwards to reach things and already my incision is getting pretty tender, so I may wait a bit longer.

I would wait the full 6 weeks tbh.

Last time I overdid things (walking rather than gym) as I felt ready but I wasn't really. Whenever I overdid it my bleeding would come back/get heavier which the midwives tell you is a sign you need to slow down.

Yesterday at 9 days pp I went out for a little walk as I was desperate for fresh air. I kept it short even though I felt like walking longer - and still today my bleeding came back with a vengeance.

Yeah, I notice that too. Usually when I notice more bleeding, I take a seat and relax. Thank you for the advice.

I was back at the gym after 4 weeks, which was also when I was signed off by my GP. I did lower impact CV work like the elliptical and bikes, and only light weights and ab work. xx

Thanks! I hope I'm in that soon! However, recovery seems to be going slower than my other two. So we'll see!
