Hi ladies

So today was the big shave for the cure day at our school today. As one of the children in my class last year had leukemia, I was asked to coordinate the event this year. Anyways, I am 8 weeks +1 and no one at school knows I am pregnant yet...so I was trying to stay away from the fumes but then parents dropped out of the volunteer spraying so I got roped in...It did smell awful, the sprays from the dollar store, and I am now praying to God that I didn't do some real damage...I have a scan booked for Monday..I had an early scan at 6 weeks 1 and heard the heartbeat and everything..just hope everything is ok...what do you think?

Im not sure but i can imagine alot of women (hairdressers) are aroud aerosols and bub is stil ok x but ask your doc x x

My hairdresser worked all through both her pregnancies with her two girls and that meant exposure to hair dyes, bleach, perming solution as well as hairsprays, I can tell you her two daughters are perfect and are now 8 and 6:) I know exactly how you feel as when I was 4 weeks pregnant and visiting a local toy store with my son we had to walk through a lobby to the exit and there was an employee spraying the window with something that absolutely reeked, on the looking the bottle had a big X on the side for irritant, I hurried past but worried for ages as it was an enclosed space and myself and my son were subjected to it as there was no other way out. I complained to the store but never heard anything. Sometimes situations arise that you just cannot get out of, I've had three scans all of which have been perfect so I try not to worry, walking along past a traffic jam would probably do more harm but pregnant women everyday have to walk children to school etc and be subjected to fumes. I think babies are tougher than we think and unless you were using a strong chemical everyday or had been exposed to radiation etc we have to expect that we can't keep ourselves away from normal everyday situations, if only we could! I think you and baby will be fine hunni, lots luv xxxxx

Hi I'm a hairdresser and I'm around aerosol sprays etc. My Dr assures me its fine. The only problem really is my sense of smell with certain things making me gag so I put a fan on that circulates the air if things bother me. Otherwise I am fine to work in that environment all through my pregnancy so Im sure you'll be fine.

Thank you so much...I just took a massive deep breath and feel a sense of relief...I have my second scan on Monday and my husband will be away for work...I just really want things to work out this time considering my previous miscarriage...so thank you!

You'll be just fine hun but after two mc myself I totally understand how you feel, make sure you let us know how the scan goes:) xxxx

Understandable. Good luck with your scan I'm sure everything will be just perfect.

Hello. So back from the scan and strong heart beat of 171 and measuring 8 weeks 2 days. Feeling very relieved! Thanks for the support!
