expressed milk

Hi how long can you leave expressed milk in the fridge for? I expressed it yesterday as i was meant to be going to the gym last night but my class was cancelled. Will the milk still be ok to use on friday? As im hoping to get my hair done and i can give the milk to my mum to use if he will take it from the bottle. Thanks in advance x

48 hours is usually recommended. I've let it go longer, but probably wouldn't leave it until Friday. I'd pop it in the freezer and thaw it shortly before use.

The NHS website says up to 5 days, so it should be ok on Friday, but freezing it is probably safer.

Yes. Hospital told us 5 days in back of fridge, not in the door is fine.

It has actually been shown to be fine far longer than 5 days, in recent experiments, but in order to be extra safe the official guidance is 5 days.
