I just cant seem to get into a routine with breast feeding & expressing!!
How soon before/after BF can u/should u be expressing?? Im at a bit of a loss!

Ideally I try to express at least once a day so I have expressed breast milk for her to drink during the night.

Oh forgot to add- She is sleeping right now & due to wake up in around half hour- when she wakes I will BF & this will take around an hour, maybe over...

At some stage after this I need to express for 1 of her night feeds (the other will be formula) but the problem is there prob wont be much to express at this stage...

How are u ladies doing it?

What I do to start a supply is to pump immediately after she has eaten. I don't get a ton each time, but eventually it builds to have enough for one full feeding. Once I have that, I replace a feeding with pumping and hubby gives a bottle. You can also pump midway between feeds to get a little more, but she might want to feed longer or be a little fussy if she isn't getting as much as usual because you have pumped (though often your breasts have pretty much re-filled by then).

Exactly what ragirl said!

The more you feed and pump the better a supple you should get, even the good pumps stimulate the prolactin glands, so that will make your body think the baby needs more milk and you should start producing more.

Make sure you are eating well and often, and that you are drinking tons of fluids.
