with my son i knew his eyes where brown from the first month
it was soooo easy !

with my daughter i have no idea?

they are still blue at the moment but somedays kinda dark blue also so does that mean they will turn brown ?

when a baby has green eyes are they blue in the begining and then turn green?

does any one have any idea?https://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m63/OULINAS/th_DSC02573bnb.jpg

Emma's slowly got a lighter and lighter blue over time. I'm not 100% sure hers are to her permanent color yet but they seem like they would be. She started out with a dark grayish blue and they were quite cloudy looking and now they are a pretty bright blue color. I'm not sure about green eyes but mine are hazel and my mom said they were dark almost black at birth.

Alex's eyes were always very dark blue and turned brown at about 10 weeks. I found this chart - don't know how accurate it is but it's fun to see what your baby's eye colours could be. I haved brown eyes and OH has green eyes. x

My husband is Japanese and has dark brown eyes but EVERYONE in my family has blue eyes but we still new that the baby wouldn`t have blue eyes.

He had grey eyes at birth but they were a medium brown by 6 weeks but they still have grey rings around them. Full Japanese babies are born with black or brown eyes and they stay that way.

I think that they say that after one year that is the permanent colour- that is not to say your daughter hasn`t already reached her permanent colour already!

Another Alex here.... Grey eyes from birth, but they do seem to be getting progressively darker and warmer (so I think that they will turn). It depends on the light too.... sometimes they still look grey...

But eyes can continue to change for many years, by about a year or two they should be fairly well settled.

QT

thanx ladies :hugs:

i guess there is no way of knowing for sure...

i found this if anyone else is wondering... its fun!

Alex's daddy is Chinese: so similarly likely to end up with brown eyes, BUT we know a number of half Chinese children (one at 3 and one in his teens) who still have blue/grey eyes, so it is possible... (BUT I do think Alex's will turn...)

My first daughter had blue eyes from birth and they got lighter and more vibrant as she got a litlte older. Now she's almost 18 and her eyes greeny blue (her dad had blue eyes and I have green)

Evie's eyes were a really dark grey, almost a slate colour at birth and have turned brown over the last few months, altho sometimes they look like they have a very dark tinge of green in them. Evie's daddy has very dark brown eyes.

If your baby's eye colour is going to change it happens by or at around 9/10 months.

My baby has blue eyes at the moment. I have blue and hubby has brown. It is perfectly possible she will have blue forever, despite brown being the dominant colour, as my husband's mother has green eyes which are on the blue spectrum and if he has passed on the blue gene to Bella (I can only have passed on blue as I only carry blue due to having blue eyes) then she will remain blue-eyed. Personally I think they will end up brown, though.

My 2nd son was born with very dark blue eyes, when you looked at him, you couldnt tell where the line was between the pupil and the iris, they stayed dark blue till he was about 18 months old then changed to brown, nice dark colour brown too. I have 2 boys with blue eyes, 1 with brown, we are guessing what colour our dd is going to have, as hers are dark blue at the mo too.

I have brown eyes, but they have a blue recessive gene from my dad and my husband has blue eyes, so Gabriel has a 50-50 chance at brown or blue. If I'd been brown eyes without the blue recessive then Gabriel would be guaranteed brown eyes. I look forward to finding out if he goes brown or blue.

^^ Emma is exactly the same- I've got brown eyes but my dad has blue and my hubby has blue eyes. Emma's left eye has a slightly brownish halo around the iris, so her eyes may turn brown. There is still a bit of suspense though since hubby's blue eyes have a slight brown halo around the iris and on my side of the family, there is a history of people with two different coloured eyes- who knows what she'll end up with in the end! It's fun seeing them change though :)

DH have hazel eyes, mine r hazel-green. Omar's were grey, then got so dark. Just recently they started to show shades of green & hazel but their color is still not clear.

Me and my OH have brown eyes but Evie has blue eyes! I think it also depends on what eye colours the grandparents have, my dad has blue eyes and OH's mum has blue eyes so it can obviously skip generations.

Alfie's eyes are still dark grey but have tints of brown and green in them. OH had blue eyes until he was 1, they then turned green until he was 5 and then they turned brown so who knows!

Since brown is dominant, it's possible that if non-Japanese (or non-Chinese) DNA was introduced many generations back, a hidden blue gene could be carried down generation after generation, never becoming known until it meets another blue gene!

I had bright blue eyes until I was about 6 or 7 years old and then they turned green.
I also had blonde hair which became brunette around the same time.

Eye color can actually change through into adulthood even if it's not common. It happened to my dad, going from green to a very clear, definite blue through his 30's and my eyes started doing the same thing in my 20's although they're still neither one nor the other at the moment.

I'm not sure what color Ronan's will end up. I have blue/green, his daddy is green, my mum is green & dad is blue, and daddy's mum is brown & dad is green. Right now they're dark blue but are getting a little lighter but remain blue.

Laila's eyes were black for a while then turned to a greyish green ..same as mine! OH always hoped she'd get my eyes, I thought she'd defo have brown eyes seeing as she's half asian  xx

My LO's were dark blue, with a very small light blue circle around the iris at birth, and turned lighter and lighter pretty quickly - the first 2 or 3 months. They've been the same bright blue for many months now - and it's the one feature every person on the street points out (plus that he's a big boy). My guess is they've stabilized.
