Hey everybody!
So I just got the results of my one hour glucose test back, and my OB says I am borderline for GD with a score of 138. I need to go back in a week for a three hour test. I'm pretty bummed about it, as I'm a FTM and I'd love to avoid the recovery of a c-section. I know GD isn't a guarantee of a c-section, but it can increase your chances of needing one.
Right now I'm just trying to make changes to my diet now to increase my chances of passing the 3 hour test and to keep baby and me as healthy as possible. I admittedly have craved carbs and fried food like crazy during my whole pregnancy, so hopefully limiting those things will do a lot of good. I work long shifts at a physical job and go to school on-campus where I'm walking around all day, so I'm not so worried about my activity levels. I know diet is my big issue.
I just wanted to know, does anyone here have experience failing the one hour but going on to pass the three hour test?
I know I should just stay calm and keep trying to eat healthy, but I admit I am very nervous at the thought of having GD. I know it is manageable and that it will likely go away after pregnancy, but I don't want baby girl to be at risk for hypoglycemia or anything else!!
