I love being around family during the holidays but at the same time, I wouldn't be driving an hour with the kids on Christmas Eve. My grandparent's house is like 1 minute from my parents (we live there now) so growing up we always came up here Christmas Eve, so naturally people still come here 
Sometimes we go to my aunts, which is a max 15 minutes away. We're the only ones with kids out of us all who gather (My aunt and uncle, grandmother, my brother and sister in law and my parents) so they tend to make it the easiest on us
