If it were me..
I would do..

Starter- mixed meats tourine with filleted toasts
Main- Exquisite Beef Stroganoff (with an extra knob of butter) and rice.
Dessert- Meringue and fresh strawberries with clotted cream

YUM
making me hungry

My fav meal is somthing MIL cooked for me one christmas eve
Coq au Vin chicken with hasselback potatoes.
About as fancy as I get for starters is melon and parma ham :) Mil does this lovely salad with apples and wallnuts though
Pudding im not sure, im a jelly and icecream kinda girl :) how about molten lava volcano cakes

you could try and start of thinking of a theme. e.g italian, indian etc....

for me it would have to be

starter- portebello mushrooms with feta cheese on ciabatta bread fryed in olive oil
main - carbonnara
dessert - gooey chocolate pudding with chocolate fudge and vanilla ice cream

ooohhh yummy

good idea on doing a come dine with me experience

have fun

It sounds great fun!

Some of the things I do when people come for dinner are:

Starters:

-Goats cheese and aubergine towers.
-Home cured sea trout with horseradish cream.
-salmon tartare with rocket salad and lemon and black pepper dressing

Mains:

-Chicken 'fillet steaks' with lemon and mushroom cream sauce
-best end fillet of lamb stuffed with black pudding served on parsnip puree
-Duck with fennel puree with a red wine jus

Puddings:

-Pears poached in port srved with brandy snap baskets, home made vanilla ice-cream and raspberries

-lemon tart with berry compote and creme fraiche.

-chocolate tart with home made vanilla icecream or cream.

-strawberry/raspberry souffle with starwberry/raspberry coulis.

All look really impressive, taste amazing and all are really easy and can be mostly prepared in advance. I usually do mini roast potatoes in olive oil or spring onion mash and reheat it and do the veg in my steamer, so it's easy to manage.

Let me know if you want any recipes.
