Fast weight gain

Has anyone else had sudden weight gain? I gained 0 lbs between conception and 20 weeks. Suddenly in the 4 weeks between 20-24 weeks I gained 8 lbs. I was really surprised at how much I gained so quickly after not gaining for so long. Is this normal?

I had gained 2 lbs from 0-15 weeks, then have gained 2lbs a week for the last two weeks, without changing my eating habits so I'm unsure what's going on, so you're not alone but I'm just as confused (and worried) as you are!

I have! I don't know exactly how much but the past 2-3 weeks I have gained loads everywhere. My back fat is returning and my legs are suddenly trunks! I'd gained 5lbs from conception to 16 weeks. Dreading seeing where I'm at now. My eating habits aren't really any different either

I'm only 13+5 but I've already gained 7lbs, always do first tri though can never stop eating lol

Mine has been gradual but my gyn said in second tri you can experience rapid weight loss or gain and all that matters is how things average out in the long haul.

Oh goodness, yes! I've been steadily gaining over a pound a week Unfortunately this is common for me. I ended up gaining 57 lbs in my first pregnancy, 52 lbs in my second pregnancy and 65 lbs in my third pregnancy. For some reason my doctor never seemed worried until the very end when I would pack on a whopping 10 lbs in a 2-3 weeks right before birth.

I certainly gained a lot in the second tri. I lost weight in the first tri due to sickness but by the end of the second tri, I'd put on 25lbs! Which freaked me out as I eat pretty healthily and certainly not excessively. I spent a bit of time tracking my calories and rarely went over 2000..! I think sometimes, your body will just do what it will do in pregnancy. You can try your best and still gain more than you'd like or anticipate!

If your eating habits haven't changed and you still seem to be shooting up significantly in weight, there is a risk you might have gestational diabetes, so just keep an eye on it.
