Hi i have a 4 week old who Bfeeds every half hour in the day and longest he goes without is at night where he might go 2 hours. he has only just gone over his birth weight.Iv had trouble with Bfeeding on the one breast as its so painful and i am taking meds for thrush (although now midwife thinks its not thrush and I'm not sure either:dohh) also now because i feed so often,i feel like i have not much milk left!:nope: i know it is continually being made but you know when your fuller and not  and lo seems frustrated with it! i have bought a expressing machine in hope it will help with stimulating more milk, used it once and got freaked that i had none left to bf after! also lo hated having it in a cup  iv also fenugreek in hope that it will help? any idea how long it takes for it to get into my system? arhhhh please any advice would be so welcome x ps really hope you make sence of this post, really hard to do ny thing with lo attached to the boob! lol

:hugs: It can be so hard to get into a rythm in the begining. Have you tries a dummy? Sometimes they just need to suck for comfort so if your LO needs a booby every 30min, chances are he's not taking in a full feed because he is snacking. All my 3 were snackers in the begining so with Jed I kept putting the dummy in when he needed to comfort suck instead of him constantly on my boob. Hope this helps hun. It does get easier :hugs:

I agree with SAmummy, it does sound like your baby is comfort feeding. Mine feeds very frequently but is still cluster feeding, after a month I think this should have stopped, I'm no expert but my first sometimes did this and i would sit crying while feeding him while my hubby would tell me to change to formula on seeing my total frustration and feeling of not being able to satisfy him, but he did also have a dummy and eventually, when I could ignore the initial screaming, I began to realise he would either cry through it and fall asleep when he realised he wasn't just going to get my boob every five minutes or he would get a dummy thus having the same affect.
I tried expressing when I was sore but was rubbish at it and because I was so stressed and tired it did affect my milk supply so was getting very little out.
Not really sure what else to suggest as it can be very difficult wanting to get it right and not be in pain!! Kamilosan is great, better than Lansinoh in my opinion as it moisterises as well as protects. It has certainly eased the pain for me.
Don't let anyone tell you when and when not to feed your baby, I got this a lot last time and i was ready to scream at someone! I think our instincts tell us. Hope things improve x
