Jacob is 2 months old tomorrow and has went from being a wee muncher to suddenly eating very little, he has dropped his 11pm feed in the last few days so he is now taking 5 bottles a day. He used to take anything between 5-6 1/2 ounces 6 times a day. But now he only seems to be taking 3 1/2 ounces and then sleeping the rest of the time. Is this common? He has been struggling with feeds lately and health visitor thinks he is suffering from silent reflux. He has been gaining weight really well (weighed in at 13lb 2 yesterday) so that's not a concern at the minute but why would he just start taking very little all of a sudden? He had his jabs yesterday but I wouldn't have thought that would affect his feeding the day after.

its probably a combination of his jabs & coming out of growth spurt.. ruby has been off her food the day after all her jabs.. and ive also noticed that when she has big growth spurt she eats like crazy, then when its over she eats quite little for a day or two, then goes back to normal. shes on 5 x 8oz feeds per day at the minute, and her 11pm one was also the first to be dropped!!

ah I see, I guess it's too early yet for me to see patterns forming, I'll give it a few days then and see how he is

Hi Craftymum, Aiden is the same recently, he isbarely taking 4oz at the moment, whereas he was finising 6oz at one point last week! I remember eeing siilar patterns with your postings re feedings before... Aiden weighed 12lb 9 2 weeks ago, so he is a similar weight to your little one too and is 2 months on friday. I'm just kind of going with the flow and as long he is eating I try not to worry. He has his jabs tomorrow aswell, bless him. How has your LO been after jabs? x

He screamed a bit after his jabs but apart from that it's hard to tell really as we've been having a few problems with him lately, he has to see our GP as health visitor reckons he has silent reflux so it's hard to tell if he's grizzly and not eating due to that or due to his jabs. Believe me though it's far worse for us than it is for them, they have short term memories at this age so they forget about it all so quick. Just us Mums worry so much about every little thing.
Good luck with it :hugs:
