My LO is 12 weeks old, and eats 5oz every 2.5-3 hours. Each time he sucks the bottle dry. He used to go 3-3.5 but lately his feedings have gotten closer and closer together. I thought maybe it was a growth spurt, but this is almost 3 weeks now.
How do you know when to up the amount of formula? How much did/does your 12 week old eat?

my health visitor told me in 24hrs they should be eating 2.5oz for every pound they weigh so if you LO weighs 10lbs each day they should have 25oz

hope that helps

if i remember right my LO was taking 4 - 5oz every 3-4 hours at 12 weeks. she had been sucking the bottle dry for a few days so i just decided to see if she would take an extra oz or two and she was perfectly fine. she now takes 6-7oz per feed at 5 months. just try making an extra oz than normal and see how your lo copes. he may just want feeds more often though.

Hes about 15lbs, so that makes 37.5oz per day?
seems like a lot! now he's drinking about 30oz/day.
I'll try a few with 6 oz and see how it goes

I would put an extra ounce of milk in his bottle and see how he gets on. My son is 9weeks and takes 5-6oz every 3hours during the day but he sleeps 9-11hours at night.
