Hey everyone,

This is probably nothing at all and a total waste of me posting but I can't ever remember feeling this awful.

Im currently 34+4, I woke up this morning feeling like utter sh*t, really unwell. Ive spent the day not doing much at all, thankfully my mil was looking after my daughter so I have been able to just rest up. I've eaten little and often as I no longer have the appetite for big meals. I've been drinking plenty like I always do. I'm generally a thirsty person anyway.

Then tonight, about an hour ago this wave of seriously bad nausea hit me and I thought it'd pass if I just lay quietly but it hasn't. I feel so horribly sick (not been sick though), and I feel so shaky and weak. I had to take my daughter to bed and I could barely carry her. I'm just laying quiet now but I feel awful.

Is this normal? Has anyone else had episodes like this around this time? I'm sure it's normal and me just worrying over nothing but I have to admit I tend to panic if something happens that I'm not familiar with and I definitely have never felt like this before!

Thanks in advance!

X

Sorry you are not feeling well. I have you checked your temp? Maybe you are getting the flu. That is how i felt when I got the flu pregnant with my dd. Get lots of rest.

I felt exactly how you're feeling from 34 to 37.5 weeks which is when I was induced. I was told its normal but theres a possibility a UTI could be causing such symptoms too so I'd speak to your midwife or your GP if you continue to feel a bit concerned about it x

i feel really sick and shaky when my blood sugar gets too low. is it possible you're not eating enough? have you tried having a snack that includes protein and carbs. like maybe some cheese& crackers with an apple?? hope you're feeling better soon

Thanks guys, maybe it's the onset of flu or something then. I don't think it's a uti, I had a midwife appointment yesterday and my urine was fine.

I'm on iron tablets for anaemia so I know how it feels to feel light headed and shaky etc but this isn't like that. It's almost like its baby making me feel so sick, she's breech and right under my ribs plus her bum is engaged so it's really uncomfy but she's been like this for a couple of weeks now and I've not felt ill because of it.

I had some pasta with cheese about an hour and a half ago and hoped thatd help but it hasnt.

I have some co-codamol painkillers that I take when my PGP is bad and they always make me feel spaced out and drowsy. Do you think it'd be ok for me to take one to go to bed with in the hope that it'll have that effect and help me get to sleep cos the way I'm feeling right now there's no way I'll be able to drop off.

Oh dear. Maybe it's just one of those things? If I were you, I'd go to bed and try to get some sleep. Then go to the doctor in the morning if nothing has improved. Maybe call a mw now just to be on the safe side though.
Wishing you well xxx

I keep waking up shaky and get shakes in the day the midwife told me to eat cereals etc and guess what it has actually worked!. I felt rank too but since drinking more pure fruit juice and cereals I'm feeling alot better xx

Can you call your MW and ask?

I had something very similar happen yesterday. I woke up the night before feeling very nauseated, and that continued throughout the day. I had horrible diarrhea (TMI, sorry!!!), and felt tired, week and sick all day. All I ate yesterday was a bowl of cereal for breakfast, a banana and a tangerine. I also started getting cramping in my stomach (which didn't feel like gas) yesterday evening, and very regular intervals. Over the phone, she suspected a stomach bug, and prescribed Ammodium AD, and that helped, and I slept the rest of it off.

I still am not 100% today, but I certainly feel a lot better!

I've been feeling crap all week and have just taken a really bad cold. Maybe you are going down with something? probably best to check with Dr.i had nausea and dizzy spells too.

I feel the same way. Even worse I vomited in my sleep last night from reflux and felt like I was choking. I think it's just a part of the third trimester.

I panic when im not familar with stuff to.
Im 32 weeks pregnant and every now and then the exact thing your describing happens to me. I tend to get dizzy sometimes with it. My ob/gyn said when it happens eat something sugary and lay on your left side and drink plenty. She said its caused from so much blood flow in your body, but low blood sugar and low blood pressure could cause it to.

Hope you get to feeling better
