With my first pregnancy nearly 5 years ago I wasn't nervous about the labor/ delivery one bit and had a great experience-- pretty easy labor, uncomplicated delivery, minimal tearing and quick recovery. Now the second time around I'm feeling a bit nervous about things-- maybe because everything went so well the first time I figure it can't possibly go so smoothly this time? Anyone else?

Me! I'm getting really nervous and my first was an easy birth too! Help!

I have 5 kids and know exactly how you feel. I have used natal Hypnotherapy will all mine and even though each time I had amazing, calm, manageable (not pain free!) labours, when I subsequently got pregnant I still had the feeling that this time my "luck" would run out and I would have complications. However when I actually went into labour, all the NH techniques just kicked ruin again and I was fine. I think it is just normal to feel apprehensive, especially if everything went well (or of course if it is your first time). When I was feeling a bit worried, I used to listen:thumbup: to the Maggie Howell CDs which really helped me calm down and feel more relaxed.

I feel exactly the same...with my son I wasn't nervous at all despite the fact that I had a shocking and difficult labour however this time I am absolutely dreading it! I'm putting it down to the fact that I was braver when I was younger  xx

I felt the exact same about my second! I was way more scared than the first time xx

I had epidural with my ds so I can't recollect really any of the experience so I'm terrified!

I was the same and like yourself had had a pretty easy first labour. It was short for a first labour only lasting 4 hours and although I had to have an episiotomy the midwives were so calm when talking to me I didn't realise how worried they were about my lo and luckily everything turned out fine. I was certain that my second labour would feel a lot longer because I knew what was coming and I was certain I couldn't have two easy births. I was very lucky though my second was much easier and was shorter still do just try to relax, I'm sure you'll do great

I'm feeling exactly the same!
Relatively easy birth with DS so not sure why I'm so worried about this one.

Were all scared COs we know what's coming! Lol.....my mum and grandma both had 7, both said the more ya have the more scared u get! Xxx

Glad its not just me! I'm so nervous this time around...

I'm so glad there are others who feel this way!! Having had 3 awesome birth experiences with no pain relief, I KNOW I can do it, but I'm still getting super nervous as it gets closer! What if it's worse this time? What if there are complications? I'm pushing my luck hoping for a FOURTH easy birth! I start to have mini panic attacks and DH thinks I'm crazy. :haha:

Oh my god!! Less than 48 hours to go before my induction and im startin to brick it now, its all floodin bk now lol xx

I think when you know what to expect you will be more nervous.
although I did had awful births.

I'm also very nervous with this one. I'm just 20 weeks now but I keep thinking about it. My first delivery was also very smooth, so I think it's just us not having a bad experience being scared to...

I'm nervous this time too, even though a had a relatively easy/quick birth last time.

I think its because even though I know what to expect, every birth is different and I remember the pain so I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for that. I also remember my hemroids, which I didn't have before, but I got from pushing. I currently have them now...I can't imagine what they'll do after pushing another baby out!
