I left a message with my midwife last night to call me back as for about 2 weeks ive felt ‘wet’ and am a bit worried about constant discharge.

She called me this morning and asked ‘does it smell? ‘no’, ‘is it dripping?’ ‘no’, ‘is it like egg white?’ ‘no’ ‘are you in pain?’ ‘no’ its not even a lot in my pants, jsut making me feel wet down there....

she said it sounds normal and if I was leaking amniotic fluid it would have turned infected by now and I would know. She said ‘you can feel the baby moving ok cant you?’ I felt awful as I had to reply no, I cant feel it moving yet :(

I don’t see anyone now until my 23 week ultrasound (I’m 18 weeks so that’s 5 weeks away) and she said she will come over on Sunday to listen to a heartbeat and re-assure me! I didn’t know midwifes did that!!!

I never had a proper 16 week appointment so I never got to hear the heartbeat at that point (I saw a consultation at 15 weeks and 17 weeks instead due to cervix and blood result issues at the time)

I’m giving it until next week and if I still have the discharge then Im going up to A&E to be referred to EPAU to get the discharge checked

There were lots of threads about oncreased CM in first trimester, I know mine has got a lot worse since I have been pregnant! Maybe the midwife can put your mind at rest tonight?

yep, mine's aweful too - I wear a panty liner & have to change it twice a day. Don't worry, it's normal as the increased discharge helps to keep baby safe. I even had some really wet stuff but it's all fine. I'm sure you'll be put at rest tonight by your midwife xx

i was wondering about this too. i seem to have a lot more creamy CM... and here's me thinking i was free of panty liners till after the birth! haha

I wouldnt worry hun ive resulted to wearing panty liners lol x

I have that 'wet' feeling too, but I've been putting it down to incontinence or increased discharge, as far as I'm concerned, if it doesn't smell or if you're not in pain then everything should be okay (although it's good you contacted your MW and she's able to reassure you) x

If it was creamy I wouldnt be as worried as that sounds normal on here. It doesnt leave a stain on my panty liner, just feels wet.
She also asked is it 'gummy' (like sticky to fingers) but mine isnt. It doesnt smell fishy (sorry TMI!) just of me if that makes sense?

if its bothering you again,i would contact her again just to put ur mind at ease if anything x

I've been very damp too and have to wear pantyliners which need to be changed frequently, it's very annoying, I'm sure that is part of the reason why I go to the toilet so often, feel like I need a wee but I'm just damp down there. :dohh:

Morning ladies. How strange! I have come on here purposefully to ask about wetness and discharge!! Thanks 4 this post, has put my mind at rest x x x

Jennie-jack, im glad Im not alone!! I dont know when you should worry or not and I'll end up at A&E every week if I were to look into every little thing x

ive been to epau at 18 weeks cuz it was gushing out of me (sorry tmi) and was told everythings ok and to wear a pad and its still the same now. minging really lol oh well xxxxxxx

I had to go up to A&E on Wednesday as I had pain with 'wetness' and alot of discharge. They also thought my amniotic fluid was leaking, they checked me over and said I had a urine infection and maybe thrush. But baby was absolutely fine. I'm sure you and baby will be fine too x

I am suffering this also, they gave me a scan and said everything seems fine, i get the creamy and the watery sort of discharge, sometimes i cough and it leaks, i know its not urine.

I had that wet feeling very constantly over the last few days or so...went to the doctors yesterday and am now being treated for thrush!! :dohh:

I have this too. I was going to start a similar thread. I felt it 'gush' a bit today. Yuk! It's kind of clear/white and a bit creamy.
I'm glad I'm not the only one!
x

It's very normal hun. And be prepared for it to get worse. Sometimes I had to change my undies several times throughout the day just to keep dry, especially towards the end of pregnancy.

Im sure once you hear the heartbeat, you'll feel better too. But the discharge is a very normal, unpleasant, part of pregnancy!

i have this too. sometimes it feels like theres loads so i go running to the loo and find there's hardly anything.. it's annoying, went to the docs today as i was a little worried and she said it's 100% normal and only to worry if it changes or smells etc. And also if it has any pink tinge or pain, so i'm trying to ignore it now
