Hey there!

I rarely start threads anymore. I was wondering about the experiences had on either of these meds.

I'm thinking of asking my doc to start me on one of the two either July (when I'm having follicle tracking done anyway) or August (after we've confirmed I AM releasing eggs on my own). I've read some things online that indicate neither of these really, truly "help" with unexplained infertility when a woman is ovulating on her own.

Any stories or advice?

Hi! I took clomid and it didn't work just made me feel crazy and had bad mood swings. I'm hoping to start femara or injectables soon along with my metformin. I've got PCOS so that's why I'm taking the metformin.

I ovulate on my own, but late, and I feel like clomid worked better for that, although worse side effects.

Hi! I ovulate on my own most of the time that I know of but I do have PCOS so during natural cycles I'm never sure if I truly release an egg every cycle or not. I have tried both Clomid and Femara. I ovulated with both. I do prefer Femara over Clomid because it is less harsh on my body. As far as unexplained infertility goes using Clomid and Femara should increase your chances at least a little bit (depending on how your body responds). When ovulating on your own your body will produce 1 follie but while using Clomid or Femara your body should be producing more than one which would up your chances a bit. But everyones body is different and responds differently to different meds.

Wishing you lots of luck and hoping you get your bfp soon!
