well for horses its 5g of fenugreek seeds per 100kg bodyweight....I wonder if its the same ratio for humans....
I found this
Because the seeds of fenugreek are somewhat bitter, they are best taken in capsule form. The typical dosage is 5 to 30 g of defatted fenugreek taken 3 times a day with meals. The one double-blind study of fenugreek used 1 g per day of a water/alcohol fenugreek extract.

Seems a lot to me but I only use it in horses and I just know it works for them :)

my fenugreek capsules are 610mg!

its funny u should say about horses cos my mam does radionics and when i was at her house she put me on a treatment but could only find the rate for horses not for humans so she put me on that lol

You should take 4 capsules (610mg) 3 times a day for the Fenugreek but I don't know about the Blessed thistle!

Blessed Thistle has a Lactation Risk Category of 3, which means:

"There are no controlled studies in breastfeeding women, however the risk of untoward effects to a breastfed infant is possible; or, controlled studies show only minimal non-threatening adverse effects. Drugs should be given only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the infant. "

This is the same rating given to Fenugreek.

See:

oh thanks so much hun, so i can take them cant i then, the benefit being breastfeeding rather than formula feeding

Instead of taking something why not switch feed your LO for a day - keep her going from one breast to the other as much as she will feed to tell your body to make more milk. THen keep feeding her as much as she wants on demand until your supply is regulated with how much she needs. Good luck!

thanks babe, i would do that if i could but i literally have one drop of milk in my right boob and none in my left, so she wont have it at all...need to get my supply up first
