Fenugreek -smell / length of time to take

I've started taking fenugreek to up my supply I've only been on it for a few days and thus morning I've noticed that I smell funny, someone else on here said this happened to them

is it a temporary thing ? If so how long ?

It's making me feel dirty

Also how long do you need to take tablets for (obviously until I notice a difference )

I don't know about length as I've never had to use it... but I do know that ladies that take it often notice they smell like maple syrup. I think that is normal and as far as I know lasts as long as you take it.

From what others have said the smell means its working.

I know others stop taking it because of the smell

It's horrible but I wonder if anyone else can actually smell it-will ask h later !

I've heard the same as Jox ie. that if you smell like curried maple syrup then it's working. And yes, other people can smell it. It's an unavoidable side-effect for most.

I only take it for a 2 - 3 days at a time to boost my supply if I've been separated from LO, if LO has been ill etc... as I find my supply stays increased even after I stop taking it.

Hi yes you will smell like curry, I think it's worse when you first start taking it and more so when you sweat as it comes out in your pores.

I personally take it all the time but I'm just paranoid if I stop my milk will dry up as lo doesn't feed as often now she is older x

Some mums say that Fenugreek works less well after a while - so they rotate with different galactagogues, such as fennell and blessed thistle.

Smelling of maple syrup sounds rather nice!

If you dont see an improvement in a week or 10days it may not work for you. The smell lasts as long as you take it. I wish I got the maple syrup smell. I smelled like curry however it wasnt strong enough that anyone but my husband could notice terribly.

I think it did work a little but only incombination with increase pumping.
