I was reading some older posts last week, looking for anything related to increasing supply, and came across some threads about fenugreek. Well, I have to say, thank you to all who posted info about this herb, I have started taking it and I'm pretty sure it's working.

Darwin is asleep, and when I looked back over the day, I realized I didn't have to make him up any formula today - for the first time in about two months, he was satisfied with his two solid meals (and he didn't even finish those today) and BFing!!

I'm taking 500mg tablets, 4 pills 3 times daily. Friends and family are starting to comment that Darwin and I smell like maple syrup, but right now I don't think I'd care if we smelled like a dung heap; I'm making enough milk to feed my baby again! :happydance:

I think I smell like curry :dohh: glad its working tho xxx

I'm so sorry it's affecting you that way! I wonder if a different brand might make a difference? The kind I'm taking smells like maple right out of the bottle, does yours, or does it smell like curry?

I actually don't smell any different to anyone else (I've been asking friends & family), though my pee does smell weird to me. Darwin is a whole different story - everyone who holds him asks me what cream I'm using on him because he smells like maple!

I have to say, this stuff really works. I thought Darwin was a snacker, but I think I've been having supply issues from the very start. He's never gone three hours between meals; I've always envied moms who can go out with their babies and not have to stop and BF every hour, moms whose babies can sleep for more than 3 hours at a time without waking frantically hungry...

Today Darwin easily managed three to four hours between meals and I could tell he was getting WAY more milk each time and it was coming much easier. He usually seems to struggle to get enough, but this morning he actually drank so much he spit up twice and STILL managed more than three hours before showing any sign that he was hungry. I am in awe, and I wish I had known about this stuff earlier!
