Hi all - thought I would share this with you. Me and my OH did the Fertell fertility test a couple of months ago - it really put our minds at rest and we found it really useful. My OH is 36 and was getting worried about his sperm quality. We both got positive results from the test :happydance: . This is the info from their website –

'Fertell is the UK's leading fertility test and has been developed as a first step to help you and your partner find out about potential female and male fertility issues earlier, so you can get the help you need sooner. Doctors agree that it is helpful to detect fertility issues at an earlier stage as this greatly increases your chances of getting pregnant.

Fertell is available to purchase as a combined male and female fertility test kit, or as a separate ovarian reserve test, measuring female fertility.

Female fertility

The Fertell female ovarian reserve test detects a hormone called Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH). Women are born with their quota of eggs. As a woman ages so do her eggs and the quality of those eggs decline. The ovarian reserve test detects when the FSH is at a level that indicates that the egg quality has decreased and the chances of the egg being fertilised are reduced. Fertell is a fertility test for ovarian reserve and gives a measure of underlying fertility through assessing the egg quality.

Male fertility

A key indicator of sperm quality is the concentration of motile sperm (sperm that can swim well). The Fertell male fertility test gives a measure of sperm motility in order to tell you about your sperm quality. This is the first and only test for male fertility that uses the same measures as your doctors use.'

It cost us £60 - we brought it from Boots when they where doing a triple points deal. The female test was really easy - just needed to test my pee on the 3rd day of my cycle, the male test was a little more complicated - but we are pleased we did it!

Hi! me and my oh did the fertell test in sept too,I was pleased with it b/c my oh is 37 and he had married once before and was never able to conceive so he thougth, come to find out his first wife had lied and she had a tubal ligation done years before they met, so he was relieved to know it wasn't him.so it really is worth the money and you can do it at home which men probably like. good luck ttc!!!!
