Fertility Friend is not my friend at the moment...

That'd be nice for Xmas :happydance:

It's my partners 40th at New Year so that's what I'd like to give him this year :haha:

My temps are a bit erratic as I've forgotten to put the timer on the heating a few times.

It drives me nuts when doctors put women on a form of birth control to regulate their cycles. All this does is cover up a problem..not fix it! Once you go off birth control..the problems come back. In the next few years it will be very fowned apon and be considered poor care...as I already know it is. My doctor try to do the same thing and I refused and im glad you did too =)

I am glad someone agrees , yes I would be estatic if the birth control regulated my cycle and after coming off it I became pregnant... but the bottom line is I want to know why my hormones are so out of whack. Going without a period for 100+ days is not normal and to just cover it up with birth control is unacceptable!

Anyways, rant over now, best of luck to you and lots of :dust:... are you due to ovulate shortly, it seems like it with your chart.

It sure would be nice for Xmas... my hubby keeps asking what I want and I keep telling him a :bfp:, I still don't think he takes me seriously.

Instead of starting a complete new thread I figured I would ask this question here.

This morning I had an intense hot flash that woke me up out of my sleep, I was sweating so much I couldn't take it and had to get up. Unfortunately this was well before the time I temp so I had to adjust :growlmad:... anyways, can anyone think of why between 5-7 DPO I would be having hot flashes? What causes them and can it be a sign... I really try not to symptom spot, I haven't up until now , but this was so intense I can't ignore it. Thanks!

It CAN be a symptom of eostrogen dropping, which can sometimes mean that AF is on her way  or maybe your hormones are still out of whack from the BCP, or it could mean absolutely nothing

Most likely (IMO) things are still settling down from the Pill.

Yeah, I don't even know what to think anymore... my temp completely confused the crap out of me this morning. I am just going to wait it out and see... I am not even going to temp for a couple days to give myself a break.

This is SO frustrating, I think I need a breather... I never thought TTC could be so overwhelming. When you think you know what is going on something comes along to change it and breaks your heart, I honestly think next cycle will be NTNP.

Thanks for all your help though, I really appreciate it :flower:!

Yep our bodies can be frustrating sometimes, and you have the factor of coming off birth control, it can take a while for things to settle down.

If you wanted to take the rest of this cycle off temping and then just start again on about CD7 next month there would be no harm really, once you've confirmed Ov there is limited usefulness in temping. It might still be useful to temp to pinpoint next Ov, and then again you can always quit after.

The problem being is this temp made my crosshairs disappear, but then again it was a crazy night. Like I said... due to the hot flash, I woke up 3.5 hours before I normally temp, I was up for about an hour, then I laid back down for an hour and temped again 1.5 hours before I normally temp.

At 3.5 hours before my temp was 97.13, using whenmybaby that gave me 97.81... yet when I took my temp 1.5 hours before it read 96.96, that really threw me for a loop, maybe it was because the house was cold and I didn't have a jacket on or maybe being awake made it go down.

Either way, I don't know what temp to use, or if I should just disregard last night? If I disregard it though and get a temp rise tomorrow I still don't get my crosshairs back . This is so confusing, I apologize for such the long post but I wanted to explain the situation further.

So here is the breakdown:

Woke up 1:05 am due to hot flash and to pee: 97.13
Laid back down 2:15 am
Woke up again at 3:05 am: 96.96
Been up ever since

OK well I think that your night was so disturbed, that this particular temp is not that meaningful, so you can either discard it, or if the FF crosshairs are important to you, make up a temp(say use the one from the day before) but note in your notes section that it was a disturbed sleep and you are using yesterday's temp.

And then I'd probably say it's fine to quit charting for the rest of the cycle unless you really want to keep going.

The temp in the house can make a difference to your body temp, definitely, in my own chart I have .30C difference on the days I remembered to set the heating to come on at 06:30.

First off thank you so so much, I have been bummed out all morning because of my temp... I know that isn't good. Anyways, I think I am going to temp one more time tomorrow morning and adjust today's temp based on what I get, does that make sense?

My biggest fear is I am still anovulatory, do you think that is a possibility? I really think I did ovulate because every morning my cervix is LFC but it moves throughout the day... also (TMI warning) I have been constipated like crazy and last night when we DTD I was super dry.

Who knows though, my body is the only one who knows what is going on... I am thinking though of calling my primary doctor Monday morning and seeing if I can go in and have them do a progesterone check, since there was a possibility of ovulation on the 5th also... it is 7dpo that they do a progesterone check, right?

Yeah it's a 7DPO that they do the prog bloods.

I'm not 100% sure that you have ovulated going by the chart BUT the signs you described also sound hopeful, one more day of temping won't hurt. And really one dodgy temperature does mean much at all.

My concern is if you get the bloods done but haven't ovulated on day 30, then the results could seem bad (ie be misleading) and put you in a downer IFKWIM, and depending on your doctor they might not do bloods at this stage (are you in the UK or US, British doctors don't seem inclined to help at all unless you are trying for at least 12 months)?

I am in the US, my husband is in the Army here and the doctor's are pretty helpful, so far they have run all the test I have requested and one also sent me to a RE after only 8 months of trying. I wasn't happy with that doc so I haven't been back... if my primary care doctor can't do anything I may look into getting a new RE.

Do you know why my cerivx would move around throughout the day though, is that normal?

Hmm, I don't check CP, because it's not that consistent (for me) and I don't think it's a great indicator, there might be other people on the forum have a better understanding of the CP stuff than me though.

Since you have a good doc then you could do the blood tests, but I'd show him the chart as well, so if they do the test and the results are a bit weird he knows that it could be inconclusive as well :hugs:

Coming off hormonal contraception is really a bitch, I feel for you.

So that's my game plan, call the doc Monday and try to get in... hopefully it will give me some answers, even if it isn't what I want to hear at least I know if I should still be on the look out for O.

Sounds like a plan, but try not to stress too much about it in the meantime :hugs:

So I called my doctor this AM and I have an appointment scheduled for Friday morning @ 8:45, I am so excited I can barely contain myself. On another positive note, I am almost 100% sure I ovulated :happydance:, now it is just a matter of figuring out when. Hopefully it is CD30 instead of CD28 because the only time we BD around then was CD29, so it is either one day before or one day after O.

I swore I wasn't going to temp anymore, but I can't do it... my DH was so cute, he woke me up before he left @ 5 this morning because he thought I slept through my alarm to temp. Obviously I know he wants a baby, but I never thought it concerned him that much, lol. So for him I think I am going to continue temping, plus I think it will help me at my appointment Friday. FX'ed things go well!

Good luck, hope all goes well with the tests.

And if not you just say that FF is wrong ok!

I think I have myself prepared for any situation... key word there is THINK, I feel pretty optimistic right now but know there is the possibility of things not turning out the way I hope.

The only way to know though is get AF, a BFP, or have these test done. I will update once I know anything, it may not be Friday though... stupid lab takes like a week to get progesterone levels back :growlmad:. Kind of hoping they do a beta but we will see, do you think a :bfp: would show on a beta 11DPO?

I think with betas there's more of a chance than with POAS at 11DPO.

But by the time you get your results you'll either have AF or positive test.
