My hubby and I have been TTC for about 8 months now, and sometimes with his work we miss the best dates, (so we've maybe only had 5 or 6 proper months trying). I know that it can take a while and its recommended that you wait 12-24 mths before going to the GP. I'm also overweight and trying to get that down as I know thats more likely a factor than anything more serious. And that is where the 'but' comes in - I answered a question about O pain yesterday and it got me thinking - I get barely noticeable twinges one month and severe pain the next (severe pain always on the left side). Could I have a problem with my right ovary/ tube? Logic tells me 'no' as I always get a period, albeit my periods only last about 3 days max.

But I also don't tend to get much in the way of CM I don't think, slightly more towards O but not a major increase and its clear not white. (Sorry, way too much info!)

Is it time to let my heart start panicking or should I keep my brain in gear and stick to the belief that everything is fine, sometimes nature just doesn't work as quick as we'd like?!

PS one of my friends who TTC'd for 12 months got her epidural at lunchtime and the waiting is killing me, never mind her & her huby!!!!

:hugs: TTC is so hard sometimes, isn't it? As for O pains...not everyone gets them, and you may not get them every month. For me, last month i had such horrible pain in my right ovary, i felt like someone punched me there! Hurt for about 3 hours, i just went to bed so i can stop feeling so horrid. This month, all i got was a tender feeling...no sharp pain, just a discomfort for about 20 min and that was it. No consistency whatsoever in that department! If it's a problem or a medical issue, i don't know :( If you're really concerned, i would check with your doctor.

But I also don't tend to get much in the way of CM I don't think, slightly more towards O but not a major increase and its clear not white.

Clear CM is what you SHOULD be getting around ovulation. It's that clear, wet, slippery, stretchy EWCM (egg white cervical mucus) you should be hoping for around ovulation time!

:dust: for good luck, hun!

Ah, I was thinking egg 'white'. D'oh :dohh:  But also :) as it means that is something not to worry about!! Thank you!

i wouldnt worry, they say at least a year before youto docs for help. i have been trying since sept and i went to my doc cos my cycles were so irregular, he has referred me to the fertility clinic already cos he said i need help ovulating!! (scared me for a while) but im ok now. if you are in doubt pay your doc a visit to put your mind at rest x

Ive only ever noticed O pain twice in the time weve been trying, one was this cycle and the other one was a few months ago.
My laparoscopy showed nothing wrong, so if youre getting pain on the side one cycle and not the next - doesnt mean something could be wrong.

With CM, one thing ive found to be a big factor is how much water you drink. If you dont drink enough water then you may not have as much CM

My mum used to get O pain so bad she sometimes had to go home from work. But she did not always get it. I suppose it is similar to period pains in that way. Sometimes the old bitch beats us silly with her broom. Solid whacks to the abdomen. Other times, she strokes gently (and irritatingly) with a feather.

so true, so true! Thanks for the reassurance, as I said I hadn't really thought about it until I answereed another post about O pain. AF due Mon/Tues this week so gearing up for the cramps

i tend to get pain only on my left side during ovulation and id say only every three months or so! You can always go to your gp and tell her your worried just to put your mind at rest or get advise! I hope your friend has a lovely bundle of joy very soon!

I don't have o pains every month either so try not to worry! If nothing happens after you've been ttc for 12 months maybe then go and see your GP x
