Well in 2 cycles time I am having to start the dreaded fertility diet just to rule out any food allergies/intolerances as being the culprit and so I started to wander about fertility teas.

I am still in two minds as to whether or not Fertility Tea could work, yes there may be many women proclaiming that these magical potions helped to deliver there growing bumps but for me I can't actually see any hard proof. That said it is something that I would definitely like to try!

The information on the internet is vast and sometimes contradictory. The worry of losing a pregnancy in the early stages is obviously a great fear of mine and so I broke the researched herbs into two categories; Those that could be used throughout the cycle and those that could only be used up until ovulation. Many sites promoted the benefits of Green Tea however there are many persons that strongly disagree with this. After reading data that indicated consuming green tea daily immediately prior to and during implantation causes the body to stop absorbing folic acid which could cause birth defects I decided to leave it out.

Throughout the Cycle

Nettle
Dandelion Root
Rose Hips
Peppermint Leaf
Chamomile Tea

Up until Ovulation

Raspberry leaf
Red Clover Blossom
Chasteberry

After having a quick scour on eBay I managed to find all the ingredients needed for just £17.79 including shipping. Not only is this cheaper then the commercial brands, there is also enough for 6 and a half months! Whereas teas like fertil tea cost £18 for a single months supply.

I am now planning on purchasing all of the ingredients and making two separate batches (one with all ingredients in for before ovulation and one with the ingredients for post ovulation).

Has anyone else had any experiences with fertility tea?

I have been drinking green tea but am now trying to find smth without caffeine and that can actually boost my fertility. I have read somewhere that the main herbs for fertility are Raspberry leaf, Red Clover Blossom and nettle. I am surprised that the first two can only be taken prior to O. Where did you find this?

what do Dandelion Root and Rose Hips do to improve fertility?

actually just got my red clover (although it says aerial part rather than blossom, I hope it is the same thing) and Raspberry leaf delivered and it does say on the cover that red clover is not intended for use during pregnancy so you are right I wont drink it after O. Although there is no such warning for Raspberry leaf.

Hi Briss - Never did get round to my fertility tea  but it is something I would definitely consider in the future

In order to find if something was safe to drink after ovulation I just googled drinking it whilst pregnant. If it was a big no, no I figured stopping at ovulation would be the best option!

Thanks! I started drinking my DIY tea, so far so good but just in case after O I only drink nettle tea, quite delicious actually

Raspberry leaf tea is "commonly" used when a woman is (over)due to give birth to stimulate uterine contractions. I wouldn't go near it after ovulation for this reason and that's the advice I've read in several places.

Have no experience with fertility tea/tea blends but I do know that much about raspberry leaf.

Blueyedgirl that is exactly what my research confirmed which I why I recommended up to ovulation only
