Fertility treatment question (previous pregnancy and child)

Hi ladies,

I have just been reading a thread where the OP mentioned that due to her already having a baby that she has not been offered fertility treatment after a referral. This made me think...and worry!

Hubby and I have been ttc for a year now. I have PCO and so far nothing has happened. We have our first referral appointment in 2 weeks. OH has a 13 year old child and I was pregnant in a previous relationship, (6.5 years ago) but couldn't carry on the pregnancy due to medical reasons.

My question is whether these facts will go against us when we see the FS? Will they take this info into account and limit the treatment they would have offered us had neither of us got this pregnancy/child history? The thought of them telling us to go away and wait for nature to take its course is already paining me!

I would really appreciate any opinions or experiences which you may have had.

It shouldn't limit the amount of investigations and treatments you have the only thing you won't get is ivf on the nhs as your hubby already has a child. Good luck with it x

Yep as Oneday said thats true, bummer ur married. Ive read on another forum where a lady got around her partner having children. I dont want to mention it here but im sure u get the gist of it.

Thanks ladies that has reassured me somewhat. At least we will get investigated fully and if there is a problem then we will find out.

I hope mother nature is just taking her time but at least we should soon be on the path to finding out if anything else is causing the issue.

I think with regards to only one having a child that depends on area. But as for your actual question, I am in the same position, ttc baby 2 with pcos. I was referred and had all the tests and was given Metformin and 6 months of clomid. I am on my second to last dose now. If that doesn't work we go private. But you're entitled to the investigations and some clomid. X
