Ffion is really unhappy being bottle fed all the time. when shes hungry she looks for my boobs and gets really pissed off when i give her a bottle. she hardly drank anything yesterday and lastnight she screamed all night so in the end i gave in and booby fed her. the only thing is now my milk supply is all messed up and rhys has been screaming this morning because ive been feeding ffion

I really don't know what to say because I'm having a similar problem with my LO. He'll drink a bottle though but then not settle til I boob him. He does the staring at the boob thing too. Makes me feel so guilty! I hope someone else has a good idea of what you can do but I am going to ask my HV about it tomorrow and I'll let you know what she says x

Hunnie sorry i have no idea, are you expressing the breast milk and that's not satisfying her or are you using formula to top up the breast ?? Only thing i can suggest is trying to see if it's the bottle you baby isn't liking change the type so go onto another brand, Avent, Tommee Tippee or similar.

Have you only tried her on one brand of formula? I agree with Tootsie that maybe it's the taste/thickness she doesn't like as much as breast milk and she might be better on something else? x

ive been using C&G comfort this week but was gonna change to normal C&G after this box is finished

I'd say it's the milk then she's not liking, Breast milk is obviously much more tasty for her. Just buy another type and try her until she settles better.

Tezzy, the times when she is unhappy is it when she's tired and wants to sleep?

My daughter finally took to a bottle at 6 months. But when she needed a nap or wanted to go down for the night, she always turned to the breast and I would breastfeed her in those times. She definitely did not want the bottle at that time. It stopped when she was a year old.

Might be the milk hun as comfort 1 is VERY thick and obviously breast milf is much thinner in consistency.
Are you sure its not the flow? i know i have to use 6month plus teats for tabs or she gets pissed off. Turn bottle upside down and it should be visably drip drip drip drip like 1 a sec etc

ive been doing combined feeding today... im shattered and rhys is grouchy but i dont think theres any other way of doing it. i bought some cartons of c&g 2 and she drank 6oz of that but refused to settle without the boob

Sam's never quite the same if he has bottles of expressed milk because when I feed him he likes to just relax and comfort suck for a while afterwards, which he obviously can't do with a bottle - and it's obviously nothing to do with the flavour. If I distract him with something he soon forgets that he wants to be sucking...or he'll suck his thumb and that calms him down. Does she have a dummy or suck her thumb? It might just take her a few days to get used to it. If Rhys goes to bed before Ffion does maybe you could try just breastfeeding her in the evening before bed? x

I know exactly how you feel Tezzy. I'm challenged with the same thing right now. The only difference, my baby is used to the formula and she takes the bottle well. She had formula from the day she was in the hospital. I continue to give her formula, and bresie, bresie.

The only suggestion is to express your milk and train her with the bottle of your expressed milk. Give her breise, bresie at night.

Have you tried a dummy? She may just want to comfort suck and obviously is getting a mouth full of milk when she tries that with the bottle. Other than that don't really know what to suggest but hope it settles down for you and you get things sorted.

sounds like its the comfort she wants from you as appossed to the milk, breastfeeding is obviously very intimate between you and her and she doesnt want to give that up.
