fh measuring 34 cm at 24 weeks!!!

I would just stick with the doctors measurments, and be sure to get another glucose test done to be on the safe side. I honestly don't know what else would cause your measurments to be that far ahead.

im definatly going to be getting a GTT, my mw was planning on sending me for one in 2 weeks so she will prob move it up for friday and it was a fasting one aswell, so ill fast from tomorrow night just in case.. im pretty sure its not my fluid as i had a 3d scan at 23 weeks and everything looked absolutly normal, if anything he looked a bit big and cramped but im only going by looking at him, becasue i didnt get measurements or anything

ahh I didn't know you had to fast for the test. I have mine tomorrow and I could have swore she told me to eat breakfast before hand.

yeah i dont usually, but as bubs was 3 cm ahead at my last appointment she wants a more detailed test.. usually you can eat before and wait an hour and get a blood test and your done... for mine i have to fast, have a blood test, drink the drink and wait 2 hours and get another blood test

it is, especially when my first came back perfectly normal.. but something is definatly up now so id rather do it and get answers then not and worry

i have to get LO babysat while i do it as she hates being still for longer then 10 minutes and sitting for 2+ hours while i have my m/w and do the test would be like torture to her..

just a bit of a late update, went to see the midwife, still measuring big so i was right although when i measured the 34 i think it was because he was sitting high because that afternoon i was playing on my exercise ball and since then id measured 29-31cm. when i went to the doc i was 29cm so still 4-5 weeks ahead. he is still sending me for the GTT at my next midwife like i was going to and doesn't seem worried so it must be alright, he did say tho that i had a decent sized but so i hope either his slowed down by the time he is due, or he can keep growing at the rate he is and i go early (but not too early)

Hi hun, are u still measuring ahead and did you get GTT results?

Im 28 weeks and measuring 33! x slightly worried. Still waiting on letter confirming when im seeing a consultant (altho no scan or GTT test has been booked and mw sd she is NOT concerned at all) x

i get my results from my GTT on friday at my next appointment, but I'm assuming all is fine otherwise i would have been contacted by now, after my 24 week appointment my growth slowed for a fortnight and stayed at 28cm for my 24,26 week visits but now has bounced forward again and I'm now measuring 34 cm at 28 weeks.. I'm not sure what will happen next but maybe they will send me for an u/s to check all is good.. who knows.. ill update friday.

Thanks vicky. Ive just started a thread in third tri about it as its driving me up the wall! I dont like measuring so far ahead - esp when my bump isnt particularly big?!

with my bump you can see where the extra centimetres come into it.. just wish we knew why we measure so large for our gestation

this is my bump - and it just looks normal sized to me LOL sooo confusing.

really hope i get my appt date soon with the consultant as im sooo worried. x

edit: mmmmm i wonder if mine is going UP rather than OUT. im only 5'3'' BUT i have a long torso and short legs. So maybe..... this speculation is a minefield.

mine is in my avatar.. I'm 5'2" but i have short legs and a short torso lol.. my speculation for my bump is just the closeness of my pregnancies.. and the lack abdominal strength as i never got this huge this quick with DD
