Hi girls, went to doctors yesterday and was told that my scan which was clear, showed up fibroids on the lining of my womb. My doctor did not have a clue about it. She was going to ask her gyno friends about it and have to go back in a few weeks.

Just wondering...
I have constant pain, which doc originally though was pid. Feels like period pain but mainly round left ovary(ovary was clear in scan?).

Has anyone else had this? Is it the same as endometriosis?
Does it effect fertility, anyone got pregnant quickly with having this?

I'm worried il never have another baby, doctor is no help :(

hi babyell, I was just wondering what ever came of your fibroid. I see that you are expecting congrats on that! I am currently ttc with a 2cm fibroid bulging into my uterus.

Hi I have just had a scan and she couldn't see them so hopefully they are as they were. As you can see from my ticker I got pregnant eith them so fingers crossed fir you xxxx

Thanks for posting and updating. I have been told I have fibroids, but the doc didn't seem concerned. I am, but they're not.

Hiya I know this is an old thread but am wondering what are your fibroid symptoms and is there a family history of them?

My GP treated me for pid which I'm sure it wasn't and even though I get do get abdominal pain I'm pretty sure its not endo as don't really have other symptoms much. My mum had fibroids and so did Nan and Aunts. Am wondering if its hereditary?

Actually my Mum was due for a D&C for her fibroids then few weeks before she fell preg with me and my twin! So thats a good success story lol

Congrats on your pregnancy babyell :flower:

I kinda bamboozled my doctor. With endometriosis you get more pain during your period and less rest of the time. Mine was opposite, from having my baby I was having period type pains all month and no pain during my period. She gave me a month antibiotics for PID, but the pain persisted. She sent me for a scan and the lady at the scan said it looked ok and nothing to worry about, but when I went back to doctors with pain she said "oh I see you scan showed fibroids". Can't remember the technical term she said. She didn't know if the fibroids would be the cause of the pain, she though it could be my bowels so she gave me some laxative and told me to go back in 2 weeks when she had spoken to a gyno friend. Went back 2 weeks later and she was going to refer me to hospital but told her I was pregnant, so she sent me for the scan I have just had and it looked fine(touch wood). I was really worried after harry and all the complications that I couldn't have another baby, but it was possible. Having to wait is the worst part because it includes the not knowing when or if it will ever happen.

As far as I know my mum hadn't had fibroids. I hope this helps in some way. (sorry fir the long story!)Good luck with ttc XXXXXXX

tick - my mum and aunt has 'roids, but both my sisters dont. I have 1 about 2 cms inside my uterus. They do say it is hereditary

Thankyou both for replying.

Babyell I really hope everything goes well for you. I've also been told its my IBS playing up and to eat more fibre like I don't already know that lol I think I'll mention it when go to my rubbish gp next.

ttcbaby, my sister doesn't have any period type problems (damn her!) looks like I got them all. My mum had exactly same as me, 2 day spotting before af, random stomach pain, ov pain and heavy periods and I seem to take after her. She had my brothers at 17 and 21 and us at 33, then total hysterectomy at 38 cos couldn't put up with periods anymore, plus us being twins think we wrecked her uterus lol
Good luck ttc!

tick - yeah I am in the same boat....I got all the issues, my 2 sisters had no problems concieving...and here I am...hahahahaha
