Hi girls

Well I awoke this morning to a very very heavy period after being 14 days late. I dont think i realised how long it would take for my cycle to get back to normal after being on the pill for such a long time. Beacause my 3 previous periods have been bang on the 31 day mark I assumed they would stay like this but thats not the case ... my body probably still has so many hormones going through it and as they say it will take a good 6 months probably to get back on track (hopefully!)

Anyway i found a really useful site (just found out i cant name it until i've done 10 posts or more so will give you the exact name of it soon!) which has excellent information for girls who have been on the pill and how it affects everybody differently. Its actually quite scary when you read everyone's stories - there are some woman who have had to wait for a whole year before their af even returns!

Thanks for all the support though girls and its time now to get those OPK's going for me again soon ... its just a relief to know I am still ovulating! Good luck everyone xx

Sorry to hear that AF came - but at least that means your cycle is back on track. Better luck next month.:hugs:

sorry to hear the witch came. At least though you know you will be ovulating soon. I'm 4 days late today. I'm going to test tomorrow so we will see what happens. fingers crossed that next month will be your month :hugs:

I know Poppy I'm just happy to be "back in the game" again! At least I am actually getting my af thats such a relief ... just wondering though how am I going to work out when I'm ovulating & next af etc with all my dates all over the place? I'll have to use the OPK's since my af is now irregular so far i've had 31 day cycles but this month has been a massive 46 day cyle so its a bit tricky ....

Thats ok Lady milly I am grand! Have you been on the pill at all? I didn't realise how much it would affect my cycle so its worth baring in mind if you're late. Have you been testing much?

Yeah I was on Yasmin for 7 years. Came off it in June last year. Got AF in July and every month after and was using an ovulation calendar and AF came when it was due. Last month was the first month that I was late. I tested every month and last month I did about a million of them:blush: I'm not going to get my hopes up for testing tomorrow. Its so frustrating. When I came off the pill I went onto a website about the side effects and it was unreal what was on there. They are very good sites to show you that at least your not the only one going through it:hugs:

yeah it is hard for your body to re-adapt naturally after having so many artificial hormones for so long! I was on bcp for 5 years and stopped Sept 2006. My periods were regular for a few months afterward and then went crazy...they still kinda are, but I think I just have irregular periods, which makes ttc really difficult. I just bought the clear blue fertility monitor and am really looking forward to using it. Since I have been unofficially trying for almost a year and officially trying for 5 months...I think I have been way off when calculating my O-time. I didn't really like the opks, so I invested in the CB fertility monitor. Try not to be frustrated (yeah right haha) and just learn as much as you can to make ttc easier, and more of a blessing than a chore. Best of luck :hugs: and lots of :dust: for your new cycle!!!

Forgot to add, I was 16 days late my previous cycle (just got over AF visiting) argh it drove me mad!! :hissy: So I definitely can relate to how you must be feeling/were feeling!!

my cycle are irregular after coming of the pill in sept 07. my doc is referring me to the infertility clinic as he said if they are that irreguar it means im not ovulating!! am now awaiting an appointment from them but it could take a couple of months to come through

Thanks so much girls! Its not until you hear from everyone else you realise that really there are more people in the same boat than you think .. the people you are always hearing about who "come off the pill and fall pregnant straight away" are actually a lot rarer than you would actually think ... Avistar I like your style and very much agree that ttc should be more of a blessing than a chore I like that! Think my husband would agree with you there too because realistically the more uptight we get about the whole thing the harder its going to be so I think that I might invest in the old digital CB fertility monitor too. I sound like you Avistar beacause we've been officially trying for about 4/5 months and my predictions for ovulating have been so wrong (never was very good at maths!) ... so you've been 16 days late too? Its more common than you would think isn't it, god i was going crazy! not so much because I wanted to be pregnant but just scared myself a bit reading some scary stories about periods never returning and just wanted them to be normal again.Hopefully all those bloody hormones will be leaving me soon and then I'll just have to contend with my natural ones which are pretty crazy too at the best of times so bring on plenty emotional rollercoaster rides for me haaha! Again thank you so much Avistar, lady milly, Hayley, Miel, Hays adn poppy for taking the time to qwrite to me I relaly apprecaite it. Chat to you all soon its time to get pencilling in all my baby dancing days haaha xxxxx

I would recommend the CBFM, even though I just started to use mine and haven't used the sticks yet, but everyone else who has one really seems to enjoy it. :) TTC can take out all the romance, and that is what I don't like about it, I try not to tell my DH about when I think I might be Oing...so he doesn't think that is my only intention. It is usually half and half to be honest, but I truly love my DH and we are intimate anyway besides the whole ttc. Some can also feel too much pressure and it makes it less enjoyable. Best wishes for this new cycle!!! I am really anxious if/when the CBFM picks up on my fertility and Oing...I think I O really late...only time will tell. That is the trouble with irregular periods. I am sure your body will regulate itself soon, so try not to worry. My mom always had irregular periods, so it might just be inherited. :dohh:
