Well I decided, after unsuccessfully before and advice from my sis, to try Gabbi on Baby rice again. I tried a her a few weeks ago, but she did not want it, tried it with water, urgh, but much better with milk. When I mentioned it to my sis, she said she was adviced not to wean her baby until after 6 months as we have a lot of allergies in our family.
So, Gabbi is now 5 1/2 months and I thought I would try her on a little rice so she was used to solids by the time she was 6 months and could start experimenting with different fruits and veg.
Well she took to it like she'd been eating for weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh bless her, she loved the stuff!!!! She even grabbed the spoon and fed herself ...... in a fashion!! lol She loved it so much that she cried when we gave her milk! So yes, I have learnt my lesson, she gets milk first, then rice! I have read that giving milk first makes sure that she gets enough of what she needs and the rice is extra. I also don't want to over feed her though, last night she had about 2 tsp of rice (maybe 3, so much went down her chin it's hard to say!), then 180 ml of milk and then more rice!!
Can anyone tell me what the equivalent of giving say baby rice mixed with 30 ml of milk (she still doesn't like it with water), as obviously, nutrition wise, it amounts to more than just the 30 ml of milk.
So now I am going to start going through all your threads to see what I can try in a while, mixing rice, advice, etc.
