We are starting BLW "officially" on Saturday!!! Will make a big deal out of it, set up her new chair, both me and daddy will be eating with her. I am thinking should be around lunch time. What should I give my little BIG girl to start :) Was thinking maybe steamed veggies? And need something else? Also should I start with just feeding her once a day for the first week or so? I bought a book on baby led weaning but seems like I won't have time to finish it before we start.

hehe I am starting this weekend too, except I gave him some tuna last night as my daughter had some. I just blobbed a bit in his highchair and let him deal with it lol

today I am going to try some broccoli and cucumber I think.

I am just going to start him with bits like this for the time being. We eat too late cos of OH work, so in a few weeks it be lunch together i think

I started Olivia with things like steamed carrot sticks, cucumber, apple sticks etc x

I started her with veggies today and it didn't go as well comparing to her reaction when she had food from my hands. She took a chunk of broccolli, kind of almost attacked it, gagged and then started crying. I tried tw later on (sweet potatoes) and she fed herself with preloaded spoon and liked it much more. Maybe I should wait a week or two more or persevere and just keep giving food to her?

How's it going now?

It can be an anticlimax when you've been so excited about starting BLW. My LO did nothing much for a week or so - I was expecting it to be like the videos you see on YouTube of little babies sticking whole broccolli florets in their mouths and chewing - but I just kept putting him in the highchair when I had lunch and giving him bits to play with. He caught on eventually.
