First clomid cycle...anyone else????

Hi all

I'll start with a bit of background info on me.

Im 27 years old, and I was on bcp from age 16-25. I've been off bcp since January 1 2012. After coming off bcp my cycles ranged from 35-48 days. This obviously made detecting ovulation for a newbie to ttc very hard. So in July 2012 we started using the CB digital OPK and the first cycle I got my BFP. We were soooooo happy!!! Well fast forward about a week and I started spotting.... Went to the dr at 6+3 for a early scan everything was perfect baby measuring greeat and HB of 120.

The spotting contined so I went in for another scan at 11 +3 and was told my bean did not have a HB and was measuring only 6+4. Had to tak pills to induce mc.

I did not get another Cycle for about 55 days(I was told by my dr that this is normal. Anyways sorry for the long post, my cycles continued to be long(im talking 120 days) but my doctor kept saying its normal....

So I switched dr and my new dr discovered I had a thyroid problem and my prolactin was elevated. After starting the thyroid pills my hormones are all normal and my cycles seem to be between 29-40 days

I'm now seeing an amazing Gyno who is taking me serious and running all the necessary tests on my and DH. No known issues except delayed O for me..

Soo here we are CD1 starting 50mg CD5-9. Praying this works. Anyone else similar to me or just needs a cycle buddy feel free to join

First of all, I am so sorry for your loss. Our stories are very similar. We lost out little one at 11weeks. (Just a few weeks after a healthy ultrasound.) it was beyond devastating. My cycles have been so crazy since then. I switched doctors because the office staff at my former office were horrible. They were so insensitive after my loss that i cried for an hour after one interaction with them...and I am a tough cookie! I decided my awesome doctor wasn't worth his awful staff. Both the doctor and staff are great so far at my new ob/gyn.
Right now I am waiting for AF so I can start Clomid. Same dose as you just on days 4-8.
I am hoping for a Sept BFP so we can tell everyone at Christmas. Good luck to you!

Bazz - obviously not on clomid but when me and my hubby were ttc Lillah my cycles were all over the shop !!! Obviously ovulated very late !!!

I got pregnant on my 1st round of 50mg clomid good luck sweetie !! Will be stalking you !!! Xxx

Hi friends-

I am on CD 4 and will be starting clomid TOMORROW for the first time. I'm doing the 50 mg for days 5-9. I'm so glad there are a few people who are in the same boat as me as far as timing

I have never had a BFP and we have been trying for just over a year. My cycles last from 38- indefinite (lol) number of days. I think this last one was something like 80 days before my doctor finally agreed to give me progesterone to get things started and clomid to make them continue working. I've had two ovulatory cycles since January, so I'm pumped that clomid will give me a cycle every month (hopefully).

I also found out at my last appointment that I have a genetic mutation called factor v leiden. I'm homozygous (both genes have the mutation) and so that means that once I get preggers I have to go on blood thinners. The only way to do that while pregnant is through daily shots in my tummy. So that's an added thing to worry/pray about

Seems like even if it is late by many people's standards, it will still be a relief just to ovulate! It's crazy to me that clomid should allow me to ovulate once a month! I won't have to wait 1.5-3 months to have a full cycle!

I use to be like that my longest cycle was 129 days!
The past three months though I've had a cycle start in June July and August

So I don't know how early people got side effects, but it doesn't seem to be bothering me at all. Vision is great, I worked out and I'm not dizzy, I'm pretty happy/ hopeful so I don't feel cranky. I guess we'll see how cranky I am when my husband gets home

Have you decided to be a morning or night pill person?

I couldn't handle waiting until tonight to take something. I'm sure it doesn't change anything, but I wanted to start right away and I couldn't wait 16 hours to take the pill at night. I'm so impatient

I had to take promethium once to start AF
All the other times i just waited it Out...very annoying!
