Ok so in 3 weeks will my mine and DH first fertility apt. It will be a semen analysis. What are we to expect?

Any one have any ideas? Surely someone has been to see a fertility specialist and might have answers on what to expect on your first visit.

Hi. When we went for hubby's it wasn't part of the actual appointment; we just went, got put in a room which had a load of porn in an office binder (lol!!) and then he did his thing (with some assistance from me due to nerves - no fluids allowed just 'gave him a hand'!).
Our first fertility appointment was getting results of stuff the GP had ordered (blood tests and semen sample) and then going over our history, and then forming a plan. I had an internal scan (with the doctor, a student and two nurses in the room) which I wasn't warned would happen, which included the (male) doctor looking at my lady parts to check for abnormalities, again, with no warning that's what he was doing. I thought he was being a perv until I saw the type up of the appointment!! We didn't have any meds prescribed because they wanted to give us 3 months of trying, before prescribing.

My hubby had his SA done prior to our first appt so the doctor knew the full picture beforehand, which was great because we made our plan based on his results, my PCOS and previous medicated cycles. My doc didn't do lab work on me because my PCOS is so obvious. He put both myself and DH on new medications and I scheduled a followup US and labs based on my first cycle. SA can be awkward, especially depending on how the room is set up. My DH has found it better when I am with him vs him being alone.
How long have you been trying? That could determine how your first appointment might go, too. Good luck!
