First month off BCP....

and have had light brown bleeding for 3 weeks (took last pill on 9th May, been bleeding since 29th May). Would you go to the doctors already or would you just put it down to hormone withdrawal?

Not sure if this is 'normal' or not?x

It wouldn't hurt to call the doctor and ask, but withdrawal bleeding is totally normal, but I'm unsure of how long it's really normal for. I think I've heard up to a month can be normal, though.

Did you stop taking it in the middle or did you finish your pack?

Yeah hun thats why you're body was use to the 28 cycle, you stop in the middle it's gonna be confused and screw up. I stopped half way through and bled so I took it again for the rest of the month, now I'm good, no spotting in my first month off. Wait for AF and your next cycle will be fine xx

Thank you, that's really put my mind at ease...was starting to wonder what the hell is going on! My boobs and the bleeding are getting better every day now so hopefully it'll be fully gone soon! x

Aw good I started taking my pills and decided to stop about 2 days in thinking it'd be okay, I started bleeding so took the pills again and I had spotting for the rest of my pack because of it, oops haha! That was last month though, cycle is okay now! No need to worry hun you're all good

I stopped my pills after finishing the whole cycle about two weeks before my wedding (hoping for a honeymoon baby). Stopped pills on May 17th, and got AF very lightly May 22nd. Did not O until June 9th 19 days after AF. I just got two BFP today at 10 dpo!!

Aw wow arent you a fertile being haha :haha My mum concieved me and my brothers the first month she tried aswell so I'm hoping I'm the same!

Good luck, I have been off bcp for 5 months now. I think all the hormones are finally gone, or at least I hope so. Since going off bcp my cycles have been very long. Like anywhere 36-41 days.

Congrats MrandMrs!!! If only we were all so lucky!

I stopped bcp may 2, got a SUPER light barely there AF a week later.. lasted 2 days didn't O til CD19.. was 35 day cycle til i got another SUPER light AF.. I'm liking this whole "I'm not dying curled up in pain from AF" thing! my af's have been super red though.. sorry - not helpful!

Haha no it's fine I guess any input is great because it shows how everyone's different and this is just my body's reaction. Bleeding has stopped today pretty much but it's done it before and started the next day so not getting my hopes up yet! x

i had "sort of" a period... i was like "thats it?!?" when it went away after about a day and a half.. it was CRAZY heavy while on BCP for 2-3 days, with severe cramps - so glad i stopped taking that BCP! although i figured my first withdrawal af would be heavy like i usually got & it wasn't.. guessing its bc i kept forgetting to take it

Haha yeah your body must have been like oh sod this! I had quite a heavy withdrawal bleed and then 10 days after it stopped the light bleeding started. Maybe that's why it was light-because of the withdrawal bleed being heavy! Still didn't think it would last 9 bloody days though! Ha!

I took my last pill on the 7th June. Had my usual withdrawal but have had a couple of days of brown spotting.

I was told by the nurse to expect random stuff for a little while while my body adjusts.

Not going to start "trying" for another four weeks though. Have my hen weekend in 4 weeks - if I can't drink everyone will guess!! Although if we do get pregnant we will be chuffed to bits and I will fake a tooth infection (the old "I'm on antibiotics" line!) but doubt it will happen that quick....

Could cry, its back today and red! Only had 2 days of June spotting free :'(
