First MW appointment when?

I was wondering when you get your first midwife appointment.. I saw my doctor 6 days after I got my BFP.. 1 1/2 week ago. He wanted to arrange a early scan for me but he said he would have to write to the midwife and then I have to see her and then she arranges the scan.

I am only 6 + 2 but wondered when you first see the midwife? I lost my son last year at 27 weeks gestation after problems at 20 weeks and nearly lost DS1 and me when I had him at term many years earlier so am high risk for many different things!

I just want something postive to look forward to rather than sitting worrying. If that makes sense!

Hi, I'm sorry for your loss I would go back to your doctor and say you're worried and need some reasurance and push for an appointment, I saw my doctor yesterday and he rang the midwife and got me an appointment for 11am today because of my history, and she then sent me to hospital for an early scan, so it can be done! Good luck

Hi. I'm sorry for all you've been through

I've only had one loss, so I don't count as high risk and my midwife just rang to arrange our first appointment and said they aim for around 8 weeks. I guess it must vary a bit depending on where you live, but it seems like if you want an appointment earlier than that you have to push for it.

I had my booking appt with my mw at 6 weeks and early scan at 7 - this was arranged by the mw and epu at the time of making my mw appt.
