Does it sound ok to have the first name and surname starting with same initial. We like Samuel but surname also starts with an S too.

We are still struggling to find much we do like right now.

I think so - if this one's a girl we're having Holly - and our surname starts with an H... I did ask a few friends (prior to getting pregnant) and they thought it sounded great...

We think Helen Hunt works so why not ;)

When I started thinking of names I was purposefully looking for names that began with the same as or surname. I think it's fine :)

I think its ok, or even nice most of the time but can occasionally be a bit much. I.e Jessica Jessop or Corey Coyle.

I think it's fine!! My first middle and last name all start with the same letter and it flows nicely!

I'd just avoid something like Samuel Samson but other than that something like Samuel Smith sounds just fine!!
I think with a surname starting with S the thing I'd personally avoid would be a first name that ENDS with S, such as James as the S seems to clash IMO. Something like James Smith sounds odd to me

My hubby is slightly different but has S O'S and it sounds fine :)

Yes, I think names with the same initial for first and surname sound lovely.

Thank you everyone. You have reassured me about our choice :)
