I had my first sonogram and it turns out it's very early on in the pregnancy - only about 4 weeks, which thrills me!! More time to get ready hehe!! The only thing that scares me is they saw two gestational sacs. They said one might be a pseudo sac, and we won't know for sure until 8 weeks, when I go back for another scan. The important thing is everying seems ok!! :hugs:

Thanks!! I am quite terrified that its twins!! :)

 Imagine? Good Luck with the next scan babe! x

Thanks :) One was shock enough, but TWO??? :dohh:

Aw, twins would be so cute. But quite a handful. You'll have to let us know how it goes!!

Wow. You are identical to what happened to me !!!!!!!!!!!!!
They found 2 sacs with me at 4 weeks.... but told me they'd be very surprised if I went on to have twins.
It's thought that the majority of pregnancies start as multiples. It's only because of earlier tests and scans that we now know about it.
I hope everything goes well for you... keep us posted.
Feel free to PM me :)

Congratulations! Twins would be awesome! When is your due date? What were your blood test results if you don't mind me asking? Like what were the numbers? We are around time in our pregnancy. I go today to the doctor and she may decide to do a scan today if not then we will do it Thursday. I wil kee everyone posted! Good luck!

I of course, googled it when I got home and sure enough it is more common that most people realize. Honestly, I freaked out when she showed me two sacs on that screen!! I go back in 4 weeks to see the little jellybean(s), and am way excited.

Bless ya.
I don't want to upset, honest I don't.. but I had really built myself up to the idea of twins, only to go back for my scan 2 weeks later to be told there was only one sac. Then, I started to bleed, and when I went in for another scan, I was told they could see the other sac 'breaking down'. So I miscarried one twin. If I hadn't known about the 2nd sac, they would have just said it was a normal bleed......
I'm really sorry, but I was so disappointed, I didn't realise how common it was. I just want you to know of what my outcome was. :(

The BellyBean that is still there is perfect though, so I'm grateful for that.

I really do hope everything goes better for you :hugs:

My due date is roughly October 26, 2008. My first blood test results had an HCG level of 89, the next day they increased to 177. I just had another set of tests done yesterday, so I don't know what they are now.

Good luck with your appointment and scan!!! :hugs:

wow... thats a massive leap for one day.... it's supposed to double every 2 days for one baby.... so thats promising :)

Yeah, my doctor warned me that most likely the other sac will be reabsorbed and I will only have one sac on my next scan. So I am prepared for that. I appreciate you sharing your experience, I was so confused after I left the doctor yesterday.

I feel for you... really I do... they were the worst weeks I've ever had !!
First of all being surprised at the pregnancy... then a 'maybe' twins... then losing one, and constantly worrying about losing both... it was horrible.
The worst part is definetely waiting.... for blood results... follow up scans....etc.
I have really found this site an absolute life saver.... If I was asked to stand in the street and advertise it with an A-Board, I would :)
