Hi everyone! I'm newly pregnant- in my 7th week, due January 26.
Thrilled to be pregnant and also worried and nervous. It's still the first trimester, so worried something will happen, but also remaining optimistic.
A bit about my pregnancy. My husband and I started trying soon after we got married 3 years ago. We knew the chances were slim as he had a cancer-prevention surgery which meant a testicle was removed and the doctor told him when he was 15 that he'd never have kids.
However, we tried anyway. After a year we stopped living in denial and went to the doctor who referred us to a fertility specialist. Our options were donor insemination or adoption.
We went the donor route and last fall had the first IUI. I also used Clomid as I have irregular cycles and the doc wanted to help my ovulation.
That attempt didn't work. So we tried again in April. This time I had to take Provera to start my period (was day 40 of my cycle and wanted to get my period started). Then Clomid and then ovulation on day 16.
The IUI this time was very different- it actually hurt a lot and I felt very, full after.
Got the positive pregnancy test 2 weeks later- yay!
So now I'm here in my 7th week and would love to meet other women who either went through donor insemination and IUIs or who are maybe due around the same time
