First time moms... When did you move up to a larger pants size?

First time mom here, will be 14 weeks on Sunday (my ticker's off a little.) My morning sickness has been so bad that I haven't gained any weight yet, but thankfully haven't lost too much, either. I don't have much of a bump yet, but I am starting to get to the point where it's uncomfortable to have the top buttoned on my favorite pair of jeans... Sometimes I even have to unzip a little bit so my barely-there bump can pooch out more comfortably, haha... I think I might just be in denial about already needing maternity clothes. I think it's more bloating than baby! But my waistband is becoming noticeably more uncomfortable by the day...

When did you find you needed either maternity pants, or at least a bigger size?

I had to retire my jeans around 14 weeks. Only things that fit now are maternity pants, or yoga pants. I haven't actually gone up a size though- all if my pre-pregnancy yoga pants fit me perfectly.

I was able to wear my regular jeans until the day I delivered, but I only gained 14 lbs and the jeans were the kind that sat pretty low on my hips. Never did make it into maternity jeans!

I'm not a ftm but with my first i didn't move up until around 18 weeks

With my first I moved up at 12 weeks. I was too big for my regular pants and not quite large enough to fill out maternity pants, but I had to make due because work so wouldn't allow me to wear sweats/PJ bottoms into the office LOL

Wow, such a range! Just goes to show everybody's different!

I started wearing maternity pants at about 14 weeks. I have gained 20 lbs but am still in my pre-pregnancy pant size, I just need the elastic waist to accommodate my bump.

I bought a belly band at 10 weeks and moved to maternity pants at 16. Why be uncomfortable? ;) You'll probably have to buy them at some point and the more you use them, the less you'll feel like you wasted money

I'm 17+3 and still fit in all my normal clothes... I did have to put a hair band on the button of my jeans though, don't think I'll last much longer! xxx

I started undoing button etc about 14 weeks, only starting wearing maternity the last week (19 weeks) x

I've been wearing genie pants with a stretchy waistband which are amazingly comfortable, so I have been wearing them for the get go to now. However I had to switch my other pants to maternity around wk 20.

Hmm... haven't heard of a belly band, so may have to look into that! I'm not big enough for maternity pants yet, so will probably just start to transition over to something with elastic waistbands like some of you have mentioned. Thanks for the tips!

ooo belly bands... I need to go on a band hunt. Pinterest had some interesting tutorials on how to make them, though

I gave up on wearing pants when I was about 13-14 weeks! I switched to yoga pants for right now. Where I work, we just have to have black pants so they don't mind that I'm wearing comfy pants to work!
