Hi there,

I just signed up for these boards after a few months of quiet reading. I don't talk to any "real life" friends, save my husband, about TTC so I thought it would be nice to have a virtual community!

After trying to conceive without success for a year and a half, we find ourselves in the first "assisted" cycle. My periods tend to be on the shorter side (23-26 days) and the RE suspects a luteal phase defect. Husband's SA results show no problems. I had the bloodwork and HSG test, which came back mostly normal. The RE and the radiologist disagreed about my HSG, which was cut slightly short when the tube slipped out of place. Prior to it slipping out, everything had flowed through the right side with no trouble and was almost through the left side. RE thinks left is fine (though right is likely dominant, as it was faster), while the radiologist purportedly thought there was a possibility of blocking. I tend to side with the RE. I felt the thing slip out of place. I guess we could do it again later if needed.

So, after all those tests, the recommendation was a cycle using Clomid (days 3-7) followed by u/s monitoring. Day 10 (yesterday) was the first u/s and showed two mature follicles on the right: one measuring 16 and the other at 21.5. I took a trigger shot last night (Ovidrel) and we were instructed to have timed intercourse last night (done), tonight and tomorrow. Then, the next day, I am to begin cinone tablets (progeterone) until they are able to test. No side effects of note with all this yet, except for one sharp cramp this morning. It was on my left side though, which seems like the wrong side. So who knows.

I just wanted to share where I'm at and if anyone has experiences similar to mine, I would love to hear about them. I'll likely start commenting on threads here now.

hi there.

im hayley been trying over 2 years now and waiting to find out how long we wil have to wait for start for ivf.
its a long process but we are both on the right road for conception.

good luck with everything x

My hubby have been trying for a year and a half. I took Clomid for 5 months. My periods were VERY irregular. My Dr. started me on Provera for a week before my first round of clomid and I've been more regular since then. I am head back to Dr. soon for more tests since the Clomid isn't making me ovulate on a consistent basis.
