For a few weeks now my LO has had these little mini-tantrums where she raises her arms up, clenches her fists and does like a 'Grrrr!' with a little tremor and then it's over, it only lasts a couple of seconds but it's pretty intense - it's like she really frustrated and just needs to get it out. But it's not once or twice a day, it's at pretty much every meal and often throughout the day. She'll be 1 in a few weeks and still has no teeth so I'm wondering if maybe her mouth is bugging her and she doesn't know how to process the pain.

Has anyone else's LO done something like this?

My DD started doing this recently, too! Mostly when she's tired and then something frustrates her or she doesn't immediately get her way, she clenches her fists and makes this growly/screechy noise and screws up her face until it turns red, and does that tremor thing. Freaked me out the first time I saw it lol.

I call those 'fistycuffs'! An 11 month old is really stuck between baby & toddler so it's just general frustration and then they tend to move on to something bright & shiny :D

FISTYCUFFS! That's my word of the day, for sure. Good to know this is pretty common and you're totally right about the transition from baby to toddler, every day she's more of one and less of another and I can feel her frustrations. But man, when she does it, she's like 'Baby Hulk mad!'

Freaked me out the first time I saw it lol.

Ugh I know, I remember the first time she did it several times in a row it totally freaked me out, then the childminder commented that she saw her doing it and I was like, oh no, developmental disorder! But clearly not, just babies bein' babies I guess.

I'm joining this club. My 8 month old started this a few weeks ago, I thought 8 months was far too small for this kinda stuff - he's obviously got other ideas!

When my LO has something he shouldn't & I take it away. He gets so mad and throws his arms down and goes "UGH!" I can't really type out the sound but it's a mixture of "ugh" and "ah!" lol  it was cute, not so much after a while.
