Hi Ladies,

I will be 14 weeks on Tuesday, and my stomach is still flat. When I lay on my back, it's firm just about my pubic bone, but there's not much of a size difference. At our ultrasound at 13 weeks and 3 days, our baby measured one day ahead and had a strong heartbeat, so we know the baby is okay. I'm just concerned because every in website for 14 weeks and in both of my pregnancy books, they all say things like 'Now that your pregnancy is beginning to show..', and 'You have probably noticed you need maternity pants!'. I've had pretty much every symptom in the book and my morning sickness is finally starting to ease up, but I still don't feel pregnant :(

When did you start noticing changes in your abdomen? And when did you look noticeably pregnant to others, and not just like you've eaten too many cookies recently? lol. What about feeling the baby move for the first time? I'm anxious for when I can feel pregnant.

Thanks!

I had a completely flat stomach until last week, 24 weeks! Baby is measuring perfectly, so I couldn't figure out how he fit in there with all my other organs, but he does/did. I finally popped this past week and I've had strangers notice I'm pregnant finally.

I started feeling movement a lot earlier, though... probably 15-16 weeks for flutters, and 18-19 weeks for actual little kicks. So, it may not be long before you feel movement, and hopefully you'll be one of the "early poppers" instead of a late bloomer like me! :D

Aw, that's so exciting!! Congrats :)

When you say 'popped', do you mean the bump shows up out of know where? lol. I'm a little confused by what people mean by that. I always thought it would be a gradual thing.

My tummy was still flat at 13 weeks, barely had anything at all at 15 weeks, still pretty flat. I think I started to really feel I had a bump at 16 and now at 19 almost 20 I feel like a whale :haha: you're right on track and I feel like since Im more slender I got to feel bubs move sooner, about 15 weeks, and kicks by 17  don't worry! Enjoy being small!

I hope I feel it that early too!

I'm slim too, so does that make me more likely to feel the baby move early too?

I heard smaller women feel it sooner, and it was true for me, but everyone is different! Good luck hun :flower:

honestly love that nothing to worry about mine was kinda like that with my first hun x

For me, it happened over the course of about a week... I started seeing a gradual curve outward until today when I actually look really and truly pregnant. It can happen either gradually or seemingly overnight!

I am 20 weeks preggers, slightly over-weight (chubby). I am not showing even the slightest bump. I do not feel anything either, although the baby was apparently doing gymnastics at the ultrasound. But I aint feeling anything yet. Still wearing my old clothes, just feeling quite bitchy! haha!

Definitely ignore things like that in books. Most people really don't start to look noticeably pregnant till closer to 25 weeks. Your baby is still sitting low in your pelvis at this point. Alot of girls get really bloated but ur baby isnt high up enough u'd have a proper bump yet

my tummy was completely flat until this week. 21 weeks, but then again she pops out after i eat but tends to hid again afterward, just think the flatter your tummy is now the easier it will be to get back into your regular jeans =]

I'm nearly 18 weeks and am only just starting to get a bit of a bump. In actual fact if you didn't know I was pregnant you'd probably just think I was getting a bit fat :haha:

I was still in my ordinary jeans at 14 weeks. Only needed to go into maternity stuff in the last week or two, mainly because my normal trousers were uncomfortable rather than them not doing up.

Having observed friends/family, it seems that the smaller you are to begin with the later you show.

i had a flat stomach around that time too! not sure when my belly popped but noone use to believe i was carrying twins or even pregnant!!!! even know, even though i myself think i have a really big belly, none believes i am nearly 24 weeks with twins!! so everyons different!!! as long as babies are healthy!!!! :-)
i must add i have put on 7-8kilos! lol!! ah welll!!!

Don't worry at all about the size of your tummy! It's really no indication to how big baby is! I don't really think the 'small women show sooner' old waves tale is true, either.

I've always been a size 8, my 1st baby I didn't even realise I was pregnant til just after 20 weeks, then my stomach stayed flat til about 30 weeks, My 2nd I had LOTS of major bloating really early, then got massive really quickly... my 3rd, My stomach stayed flat ALL the way through, 4th I had a bump before my 12 week scan and this one, I got my bump quite early, but even now at 35 weeks, if I stick a hoody on, I could easily hide that I'm pregnant!! All babies were born at around the same healthy weight though! (apart from this one, but I'm sure it will be!)

With my first I didn't even have a hint of a bump until 24 weeks and then it came all at once out of nowhere lol x

I didn't buy maternity pants till 15 weeks, and even then it was more for the sake of comfort than of actually needing them, as the stretchy waistband in the maternity pants were much more comfy! Didn't start to show really until about 17 or 18 weeks, stomach was flat when I lay down before then (well, as flat as mine can be haha).

The first time i didnt even get a hint of curving belly untill 19-20 weeks & i didnt start feeling flutters untill then either. I was a slim size 8-10 & i wore my normal jeans pratically all the way through my pregnancy.

Even this time, i've not even had a hint of bloating, i'm a little bigger this time, a size 10-12 (i blame the comfort chocolate a during stressfull first year as a mum) & have a little belly from having alfie. If it wasnt for the MS i wouldnt even think i was pregnant.

I'm a couple of weeks ahead of you and don't have a bump either. Was really worked up about it but had an emergency scan (because I bled) last week and the baby is growing fine, even a bit ahead. Very definatley still in all my normal clothes and nowhere near needing maternity stuff yet so will save my money for now. A friend has given me a belly belt and a bump band and I reckon I'll be past 20 weeks before I need new clothes (don't even need those things yet!).
