fleas!!!!!

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, de-fleaed the dogs and i did the house, we went to the vets to get the dogs done (only as that where having their jabs at the same time) the vet said the the flea spray he gave us would be fine at the time i had 9 weeks till baby was due so if you do it now then you should be fine. I think its just if little one is going to be sleeping in there right after you have sprayed it.

I do keep the nursery room door clsoed and dogs are not allowed up stairs i just do the whole house to be on the safe side.

xx

Don't use the bombs, they are really bad for you, especially pregnant women.

Just ensure you use frontline every 4-5 weeks on your pets and that will stop them from being contaminated again. Vacuum regularly and boil wash anything they've been in contact with.

Fleas don't live on human blood.

Don't worry :)

But how can you boil wash carpets, curtains, sofas etc etc?

And I completely disagree about the human blood thing! They might not live on us, but they will live in the carpets or whatever, jump on us, drink our blood and bugger off to lay 8 squillion new eggs immediately.

Flea bombs are fine, pregnant or otherwise. :) https://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/isitsafeto/fleasprayexpert/

Answer to the above:
- Advice coming from vet here ;)
- And if you break down the individual chemicals in bombs and investigate them, you'll soon understand that these are not safe for inhalation.
- A professional carpet and upholstery cleaning company will be able do these things exactly for you with no chemicals. Sprays only contaminate furnishings.

I wouldn't use the bombs, they are highly toxic... Think about it, if you have to leave the house for 6 hours while they go off so you don't breathe it in, the stuff doesn't just disappear it has to settle somewhere!

Fleas can live for months though, they eat their feces over and over again, yuck! I worked at a pet store for 4 years and we used to sell an organic floor and carpet cleaner that killed fleas, it was a powder you just sprinkle on the carpet and vacuum up. I would look for something similar to that :) If your really worried about it I would go to the vet and get a different treatment. We have something called advantage here, I'm not sure if you have it there but it kills the larvae and adult fleas, it works A LOT better then frontline. Another tip, 90% of fleas will not use a host if they are fed really good quality food (or something that is primarily fish based). Everyone always think they feed their pet the best food but if you do some research then its usually not. Go to www.dogfoodanalysis.com to see a review of whatever food you feed :) I have never had to give my dog a flea treatment. Good luck hun!! :)

Thank you everyone, pets have been frontlined today and I will be on the look out for more fleas!!! Havent seen any since I started this post x
