Hey ladies, hope the planning is going well!

What flowers are you having? real or artificial and how much are you paying?

:flower:

Hey, hows your planning coming along?

I'm having off white roses, with diamontes in the middle of each rose, the buttonholes and corsages are the same and my bridesmaids have a mixed bouquet of fuschia and white flowers (their dresses are fuschia)

We have gone for artifical flowers because I suffer from the worst hayfever, just a whiff of pollen and I'll be sneezing all day.

They look wonderful though and I'll get to keep them forever so I'm very happy.

What have you thought about having?

xXx

They sound gorgeous!

I think i am going to have light pink gerberas with a crystal in the centre of each one and pink gypsophila. I'm going to get little flower wands made for the flower girls.

I've got my cake tasting on tuesday, looking forward to that lol, then all i really have left to sort out is the flowers, except minor things and little extras.

Roses and peonies for me and the girls (4), thistle buttonholes for the boys (8) 2 pedestals, top table arrangement, corsages for the mums (2), and thank you flowers for £550. Havent decided about our centrepieces yet x

how much are the thistle buttonholes each? I love peonies so much, but they are not in season when i have my wedding which is a bummer lol

Boys buttonholes are 4.50. The pedestals are the most expensive bit @ 100 each. I adore peonies - I saw a beautiful peony bouquet on RMW and fell in love! (eta - I get married a few days before you....as far as I'm aware they are in season? My florist said it was doable.....eek, I hope it is, else I'll cry!)

im in gourock but getting married in glasgow x

Bit out of your way then lol. Theres a scottish bride forum on you and your wedding which is quite busy and the girls there should be able to suggest a good reasonably priced florist :flower:

x

i'll go and have a nosy thanks lol. What ive done so far is email what seems like every florist in glasgow who has a website lol, just waiting on replies, had a couple so far and the difference in price for the same thing is amazing! x

Tell me about it. One shop quoted me £100 for my bouquet alone! Eek. Its the 'w' factor though - mention weddings and the price goes up!

iam having calla lillies and making them my self they have cost £1.65 for 6 from ebay a pic of my flowers the blue are for the mens button holes and the lillc is for the womens

I'm having silk flowers from www.upsadaisybridalflowers.co.uk
I got all of the following (inc. postage) for £162.25 and I LOVE them! Definately reccommend this website

Bride’s shower bouquet
Bridesmaids’ bouquet x 2
Groom’s buttonhole
Guest buttonholes x 5
Corsage x 2

My mum did a floristry course so she could do our flowers. The cost of the flowers will be about £200 for my bouquet, 4x adult BMs, 3x FGs and 8x large table decs. We are having roses, astilbes, carnations, gyp and lots of greenery and she will be arrnging them all x

I had real flowers for my bouquet, the bouquet for one of my bridesmaids and to go in the flowergirl's basket. The buttonholes, corsages and 2 other posies were silk flowers. My bouquet was daffodils with some tulips in bud for structure tied with royal blue and ivory ribbons. The other real flowers were all daffodils. The silk flowers were ivory roses with some tete a tete daffodils. We didn't have centrepeices for the meal as I find that they can get in the way when having converstaions, especially with us having round tables. The evening venue supplied some flowers.

In total it cost us £12 for flowers, to buy the bulbs to grow some extra daffodils (the tulips were already in the garden along with some of the taller daffodils) and the ribbon. The artificial flowers were a gift from a family member who couldn't make it. I loved having flowers from our garden as my wedding flowers as it meant that they were really fresh- they were cut no more than an hour before the ceremony- and now every spring when the garden turns yellow with daffodils I'll have a reminder of my wedding day! :cloud9:

Beca

That stuff on that website looks really good  I never thought i'd consider artificial flowers for my bouquet etc, but I think i'd quite like to keep it as a momento

Also spied that they have 'sales' packages  good if you are on a budget!

These were what we had. My DH Auntie made them in her florist shop for us as a wedding present :)

Buttonholes x 9 (having some with black ribbon others without and FOB having vintage pink and cream rose button hole) £5 each
Single peonies & roses for jars on tables x 36 £1.60 each
