So with all this talk about the flu jab and not seeing my midwife to talk to her for about 3 weeks so iv rang and booked my flu jab for the 1st of october which is a saturday ? lol anyway iv never had it before so didnt know when they were taking appointments for it, had the flu really bad last year and dont want to risk it this yr with bump tucked up inside me, anyone else booked an app to have it?

Planning on having it, but midwife told me at booking appointment I would be sent an appointment. My hubby always gets sent one coz he has asthma, and he hasn't had his yet. Got my next appointment with her in 3.5 weeks if I haven't had anything through the post I will mention it. Different NHS trusts probably operate differently x

I waiting for the nurse to call me back about it and I noticed the leaflets and fliers everywhere in the surgery this morning. I want to get it done if it's important but wasn't sure. I wonder what the side effects are, if any?

I also have it on the 1st October, I had mild swine flu 2 years ago and I was so ill so dont want to be getting that while pregnant xx

I got my appointment card yesterday but still undecided whether to get it or not. Any advice? x

my OH doesn’t want me to get it. He's a microbiologist and his dad is a doctor and he's said that the flu jab is used with the microorganisms from the flu bug that went around the year before but this years bug will be more advanced and the jab can actually make you more likely to get it? Though I know he and he’s dad know there stuff I got the flu last year and ended up in hospital with it then and I wasn’t even pregnant so I want to get the jab! Has anyone else heard any scare things like this? I don’t mean to put anyone off getting it and in my opinion I think everyone should!
