Flu shot?

I've never gotten one before, and i'm generally against them..but i've been told that I should get it because you're immune system is considered compromised while pregnant. I'm due in about 8/9 weeks so I may manage to miss the season..but I was just wondering what others were planning on doing.

You are due soon so you could probably go without it, but I would ask your doctor. Definitely think about getting it afterwards though, just so you don't risk getting it then getting your LO sick too.

I went without, always have done.

I have asthma and the offer it every year and I always refuse & did when I was pregnant. x

I had the flu shot when I was about 14 weeks pregnant.. I don't really know what to advise since you are due so soon. My ob/gyn has suggested that I wait until I'm done breastfeeding to get the flu shot done, so I don't get the LO sick.. I don't really know how to advise you though. Have you spoken with your doctor? Has he suggested anything?

I’m skipping I hate jags and I’ve never had it before, although come to think of it I will ask my MW what she thinks as my immune system seems low. Blocked nose 24/7 and cold sores ALL THE TIME 3 INSIDE 3 WEEKS one leaves one appears

Thanks everyone! I plan on asking my doctors but my better judgement tells me they'll say to get it because their doctors lol. I probably wont end up getting it because i'm so afraid that if I do get it my body will be like 'what the hell is this..' and then i'll get sick! I don't think i've ever had a case of the flu bad enough for me to call it flu instead of just a cold.

I've never had the flu shot before and then figured it'd be best for me to get the flu shot just to protect Kenny.. but a lot of people are dead set against it saying that people who get the flu shot are the ones who contract the flu! So, it's really a personal opinion and it's up to you.. I personally would get it done if I were you.. but that's just my opinion only because I've had it done and never got sick!

i would probs get it cause you dont want to be just had a baby and have the flu/ caring for a newborn/ goiving a newborn the flue

I don't go to school anymore and I hardly leave the house, so if the flu comes into my house, it'll be through my sister who more than likely will not be getting the shot because that's my moms call and shes dead against it. bleh, i dunno what to do, there are pros and con's on both sides.

Haha awww I KNOW!! Me either :'( I actually started thinking about when Kenny was born today and I started crying!! LOL such a loser! I can't wait until you all have your babies though.. I am sososo excited! I remember when you guys were really early on! I am so excited for you all!

Sorry for hijacking Desi but yeah, it's really a personal choice.. there really are pros and cons, you just have to make the best decision for you. I would try it this one time especially since it's so important for your LO not to get the flu and if you get bad side effects from it you know never to get it again? But again it's totally up to you!

Yeah, I have to agree with Amy. I have had the flu once in my entire life, but I still want to get the shot because I would feel horrible if I got Arianna sick.

Got one when i was pregnant with Taye, and two days later had the flu for 3 weeks. Will NOT be getting it again, I am a very healthy person and never get sick so I'm not worried
