Folic Acid 5mg dose

I am taking 5mg (higher dose) of Folic Acid as well as Pregnacare daily at present and before conception due to a 2nd Tri loss in Jan where after postmortum part of out poorly babies many abnormalities was a spinal defect

I was going to call the midwife to ask but wondered if any of you ladies are taking the higher dose too...when are you planning/did you stop taking it?

Hi, i think you are right and should probably consult your midwife or GP due to your history. My GP put me on the higher dose after two m/c's, i have just found out im pregnant again and plan to take it well after 12 weeks just to make sure. My GP told me it will do no harm so im staying on the side of caution. Sorry for your loss and congrats on being pregnant x
